Holiday with friends who have had a marriage break up

  • So...what do your inlaws want to happen here? The wife to go and the husband to stay home - or the husband to take the new girlfriend and leave the wife behind - or just to go on their own? Or are they actually thinking the husband and the wife will go?

Moral: holidays with other families aren't worth the hassle.

Toss a coin? Heads the wife goes (with a friend if she so wishes, tails the husband goes, with floozie.

Or the inlaws could stay at home and let bot the husband and wife go, with their new partners.

It seems clear that the divorcing couple would not enjoy going on holiday together, and would probably ruin it for everyone else. The sensible solution would have been to change the names to bring along a new partner, while compensating the left-out old partner in some suitable way. The ex-husband obviously should have discussed this with the 'lead passenger' and it is surprising that he was able to go make the change without doing so.

Anyway, by this stage things are clearly so heated that the holiday is unlikely to be enjoyed by anyone. No: I cannot imagine that the ex-husband can obtain an injunction nor do anything using the law, but agreeing to his request would have been the sensible thing to do.

You mean provide entertainment for the holiday! and not just for your in laws.

No, he cannot get an injunction to stop travel, what does he think this is?! I'd just laugh, tell him to take a long walk off a short cliff

    Why floozie?

Insurance fraud is unlikely to make things any better...

How is getting chronic bowel movements fraud? Easily arranged..[/QUOTE]

Lying to an insurance company is still fraud, no matter what reason you give.

Also what exactly are 'chronic bowel movements'?! 'Chronic' means persisting for a long time and regularly occurring....I'm pretty sure every healthy person has 'chronic bowel movements' as hopefully we all go regularly every day of our lives! Not sure that would wash with an insurance company....

The ex husband is now upset and threatening an injunction to stop all people going on the holiday.
Let him try, judges always enjoy a good laugh.

I doubt very much that your in laws want to go on holiday with the broken hearted soon to be ex wife, either.
