TBH I dont like any of them and they would be poor as a URL.
I'm with DKLS and Gallygirl on this- no-one's going to put any of those names into a search engine!

People buy into the person and the bespoke cakes they make, I know that many people don't buy mass produced cakes anymore, they want to feel individual and special

I think though, that you need the reputation before becoming a business.

The other drawback with cakes now, is that with so many programs on TV, so many books & magazines available and so many places selling all the necessary tools, ingredients, adornments etc., with a little patience people can reproduce wonderful cakes themselves. 18 months ago I'd never iced a celebration cake in my life, last week I made the most beautiful 5 tier beehive cake complete with handmade daisies and bees for my daughter's birthday plus many more in between.

Sorry agree with the others, none of these names are good. I'd look for somethign with the name of your area in the title - eg specialcakesbristol or whatever - we want to know that it's good cake and it's nearby

None...And a bit of advice...Cakes are so 2007.A sign of mass consumption all paid for by credit ..
Those times are over..You missed the boat unless you offer something out of the ordinary.
    Good luck..

I like THE REGENCY BAKING COMPANY.
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

I don't like any of them. why are all the names based on the Krankies Fandabbydozy catchword?

its too long for a start and sounds like cakes for kids!
depending on your target market that may or may not be a bad thing - but kids these days haven't heard of the Krankies!
  • Sorry, I don't like any of the names either. I found it difficult to distinguish easily between the different names, and wouldn't want to spell them in a search engine.

As others have said, stick to something simple. Somebody I know, who has a catering business, has a surname beginning with F - their company is simply their name followed by 'fancies'. It makes it easy to remember. Including your town can be a good idea, if it isn't a very long name (Becky's of Bury St. Edmunds is a bit of a mouthful, as is Regency Cakes of Royal Leamington Spa). I remember back in the 70s, some crisps made locally were called Clock Face Crisps, after the village where they were made - short, to the point, and memorable to locals.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I thought of some good ones but a quick search of the internet (and from the post above) has shown me so has everyone else!

    I had:

    A piece of cake
    Let them eat cake
    Cherry on top
    Angel cakes
Sweet traditions (as you're doing cakes for traditional celebrations like birthdays, weddings etc)

    My husband had:

    Scrumdidliumptious
Iced to see you (as in nice to see you. Apparently everyone says that at a celebration according to hubby)
    Icing on the cake
    Queen of tarts
    Nice muffins

At that point i stopped him because i could see where his mind was going...:p

    or cakes4u.

I don'e like clevercloggs cakes, sounds as though you think you're better than your customers (to me).

I would go with your name as people buy into a person.

    Cakes by XYZ
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....
