    On your head be it.
Without the MAC you may be charged £30 cancellation fee.
The Sky Hub comes with instructions, which you can see here.

I do but I cant see how that's really going to help me. Should I ring up for the MAC code anyway?

I rang TalkTalk this morning to try and get the MAC code and got no where! The bloke (Indian) kept rattling on about how shocked he was that I wanted to leave then proceeded to tell me about how another customer left and came back etc etc.

Also asked why I wanted to leave (because your a !"£$% company) No really I said because where I live doesn't support them.

I said (politely) that's very fine but can you give me the MAC code now please? I still got no where and he had the cheek to say I sounded like I was in a hurry! So I politely ended the call and now have to get my Support worker involved, who is making noises about reporting the incident to Offcome.

I have had words with Sky who say TalkTalk are well known for this tactic, and I don't need the MAC code. But I will have a final attempt tomorrow about getting it just in case.

Sounds like you have done all you reasonably can.
Your Sky hub, will reset itself a few times over the next couple of weeks as it optimises the speed of the connection. Its important to leave it switched on during this period.

If you want to check on the workings of your router at any time just click on this link:-

    http://192.168.0.1/sky_index.html

If you click on further diagnostic help it will ask for a username ( admin ) and a password (sky).

Then clicking on Show Statistics will give you your download speed, noise margin and attenuation figures.

These are useful for diagnosing any future connection issues you may get.
Sky have a @skyhelpteam twitter account which I have found useful from time to time.

Don't laugh but I use Tesco Mobile sim only contract, always found them very helpful.
