Old toys at carboots

Hi. I've been having a clearout and am planning on doing a carboot. I've found a number of old toys, some of which are only available to buy from the US on ebay and they are selling at £10+ (before postage costs of £10+). Some are sold, others have people watching.

Some of the toys are in better condition than others and some are popular brands (like disney). They are all at least 10 years old though.

For example, I have two barbie cars, original polly pockets, a disney pushchair (good quality, not just a bit of material with a thin frame) and a dolls house with a lot of furniture (which may or may not be fisher price).

For a carboot, what would you ask for such toys?

Personally especially with the Polly Pocket I would check out prices on ebay first- some of the rarer ones do very well!

I am checking ebay for everything, but can't be bothered with the hassle of listing unless I have to. But will people pay the ebay prices at a carboot or am I going to get 20p coins thrown at me? lol

I don't think I have any really rare polly pockets. I think the ones I have (or similar ones) sell for roughly £5 with no more than a couple of quid postage.

There's some things where I can find similar items, but not the exact ones I have and it could affect the price a lot. Curious how much they're worth but no clue how to find out

Basically people are likely to be buying from you to resell on ebay, so to get buyers at a car boot your prices need to be below the ebay ones.

True. I don't mind going a bit lower, but how low do you go?

I want rid of the things, but I don't want to sell for 50p knowing they're likely to sell it on ebay for £5 when I could do that myself. How many would pay like £4 though?

It depends if they have checked tthe prices on ebay. If they 'know' an item will go for £5 then they will almost certainly want it for less than £1 otherwise they don't make enough profit.

I often sell unwanted items at more than ebay prices purely because there is poor reception at the car boot fair I attend and they don't always check out the prices properly.

also dont forget other Car Boot traders before you even get you boot open will be round to see what you have to sell, so they can buy from you and then sell on their own stall

I'd say most won't know the price and there is no guarantee that they'd sell online.

I don't want to near enough give stuff away, but I do want it to sell.

I guess asking for the higher price, close to ebay prices, is best and be willing to come down in price?

I know. Them people annoy me. I know it's called a carboot sale, but it helps if you can get stuff out the boot

There will be dealers there who specialise in toys and they will know the price.
