i got a quote from this company for a laptop so i sent it off in the box they sent me. Ive had emails and tracked postage and when i look at my tracking on the website which says complete but ive had no money and i chose to be paid through BACS.
i then look up and see the only reviews are terrible ones, im now worried that wont get money/laptop back and also that i gave them details like name address account and sort code.

I cannot find much info on the net about them at all, they looked legit but im a worrier.

I sold my laptop through sellusyourlaptop.co.uk, so slightly different but I imagine they all work the same. I sent it off, hadn't been paid within 3 weeks so tried calling, the number was not recognised, I emailed and got a reply that they were in administration and would pay me within 48hrs. Left it 3 days, still no payment. I then sent another emailing saying that I know they are scammers, and I will get trading standards involved and basically threatening them, lo and behold, my money appeared in my bank account the next day and an email to apologize for the delay and my money was now cleared.

I am still getting emails from them saying 'we sent your protective packaging 8 days ago'.


Basically they all work the same, threaten them and you will get your money, and then stay well away.


I also hope you used software to completely wipe your laptop before you sent it, not just reset to factory settings!

Sort code and name are freely available( for instance when you pay by cheque ) so don't worry on that score.

this is going to sound so silly but i forgot to wipe it before i sent it off (ive been massively busy), luckily i only put a few photos which i have already on my old laptops but i only used the actual laptop a handful of times as i hated windows 8.
What should i do if they dont give me money or laptop back? on the reviews ive actually managed to find which isnt many are all horrendous but one person has gone there to get his laptop back which i would do.

It says on the website the send the money off on a monday so fingers crossed. but the bit i was really worried about is the bank info i gave as i chose to be paid by BACS. is there anything they can do with name, address, sort code and account number?

If you are worried about giving them you bank details, go speak to your bank, they might be able to suggest something there side

i will do, thanks. uhh its such a pain, i looked at reviews first (or so i thought) but its got practically the same name as a different place that has amazing reviews, so i thought it was legit.

What should i do if i dont get a response, the number that we are given just rings and rings and i get no response via email. i was thinking if all goes wrong trading standards or action fraud? then if that doesnt sort it out actually going down there

you cant rely on reviews as these can be written by the company themselves.

11+ years in the Hosting business which is an industry that relies heavily on reviews/testimonials you will find that most people will only go on review sites/forums when something goes wrongs to give bad reviews, very view will go on these to rave about any business, so if you see a review site with only good reviews on a company then 9/10 they will be fake.
look at trip advisor and you see 80 to 90% will be bad reviews on any business.

so never just take reviews as always being true
