  • A 13 week sanction for FTA means this is the 2nd time they have received a sanction and the penalty has escalated. Perhaps they should have paid more attention to the conditionality of JSA after the first sanction?

You maybe correct but the thread was not about that, it was about how the OP could survive whilst sanctioned.

The horse had already bolted, too late to close stable door...... wanted to know how to get help to survive!

I'm sure they already know they should have done this and that as we all do after the fact.

I have been sanctioned for failing to attend a work programme appointment in January.

Are you sure this sanctions relates to your failure to attend in January? Sounds more like you were notified again and failed once again to show up.
  • At the end of the day does it really matter what country they are from?

It makes a hell of a lot of difference if you cannot understand them and more to the point they cannot understand you

I've worked in a call centre and im Scottish so have an accent. It doesnt make any difference to the advice I gave.

Not if we can understand each other, no

If the OP honestly believed that was an issue with the advice the person gave then why not speak to someone else rather than making a dig about it on here?

Because in this country, if you asked to speak to someone else and told the truth that you could not understand them no doubt you would be accused of being ignorant etc. Try going down to Lewisham council and discussing council tax with some of the workers there face to face, I almost requested a translator it was that bad. That is not ignorance or racism that is reality.
