    garage collected the car today.
they tell me they fixed most faults but need it overnight to fix alloys. 2 tyres were out of balance.

When I asked why power steering is feeling heavy, they tell me "due to a new front tyre makes the car feel heavier"......that make sense to anyone?? (never noticed before when I had tyres changed).

no idea why they did not fix all this first time round??

What tyre is it? The main difference I have found is the type of tyre and how inflated it is not the newness thereof!
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

car still got original Michellin Energy tyres, and they replaced it with the same type.

Then it shouldn't make any real difference although if the other is fairly worn it will mean this one wears faster. Best to replace in pairs really.

Might be worth double checkign the PAS fluid levels when you pick it up, just in case they've missed somethign obvious like that.

I asked the mechanic to check PAS but he seemed to fob me off it was due to a new tyre. The other front tyre is just over 3.5mm but I will probably change that when I get the car back.

    thanks for your advice.

car was delivered to my home whilst I was away on holiday. just managed to take it for a test drive before the trek to work tomorrow.
I notice the garage still not fixed the loose plastic cover under the car..which was actually damaged by the accident repair centre (as they left the car parked in a ditch thus full of gravel behind the cover). this makes a rattle when closing the rear passenger door, plus a new rattle from inside front dash!

also they changed all the wheels around so the new one is on the back....is it just me or do accident repair centres fob off with just to make quick buck from insurance companies?
