my car had a knock 2 weeks ao, when another car hit my car front drivers side. damage to front side panel and bumper and front drivers wheel and minor damage to door. Car is Citroen less than 2 years old.

collected car from a major north east accident repair centre. notice following faults
1) fuel tank gone down from 3/4 to less than 1/2 but only 5 miles driven by garage on test.

2) this evening I am out for a ride and notice significant vibration on steering wheel when driving over 60mph.
3) knocking noises when driving over some bumps which appear to come from rear of car.

Insurance think car is fixed and I have handed hire car back on collection of my car.

what can I do? as feel like the accident repair garage & insurer will fob me off

is it worth taking the car to dealer for a check or a nearby independent?

not whinging but I am sure anyone else would be annoyed, was just after some advice.

already spoke to insurer about the loss of fuel, they said they cant do anything, even though I have photos before/after.
I do lots of Motorway miles and I don't think my car is fit for driving especially of steering wheel is vibrating, it felt like holding a drill.

You have a photo of the fuel gauge? Very convenient

So are the insurance going to rectify their repair?

I took photos of the car inside/out whilst waiting for recovery - a tip I read somewhere, thus it shows mileage and fuel in tank left.
don't know what insurer will do, suspect they wont claim for courtesy car for that so means another week of the road..will call them tomorrow.

Talk to the repair centre not the insurance company. And worry more about the faults on the car than the fuel. Yes I'd be angry if they'd stolen fuel, but getting your car fixed is much more important.

totally agree I need my car fixed properly. I am tempted to take it to my local dealer for an opinion tomorrow, as the accident repair centre only open Monday - Friday.

send a complaints letter to insurance company if you aren't happy as they put you through to the repair centre and they are equally liable

Yeah, cause the dealer will have the staff to look at it on a Saturday.

I take a photo of the trip computer on my car showing the odometer reading before leaving a car at a garage. I've never read it suggested anywhere but it seems sensible. I've no idea why the idea of doing this should lead to the OP being accused of being troll...

I'm not really sure what the point of doing that is? How do you know the repair centre won't simply resolve the other issues when you raise them? You must give them the opportunity to do so. Only if they refuse do yo need to consider other options.

The vibration issue is most likely a tyre/wheel issue that hadn't been spotted. Did you drive the car at 60 mph after the accident to know if it happened then? There's every chance the repairing garage hasn't and so wouldn't know about it.
