Don't know what dates you want to go, but I just did a simple search on lastminute.com for hotels in London which would accomodate 3 adults in one room and lots of lovely places came up, with a wide range of prices too.

    http://www.lastminute.com/trips/hotellist/listInternal?ac_city=London&pTxId=2541910&startIndex=0&checkInDate=2013-08-09&checkOutDate=2013-08-10&hotelMaxReturnPerPage=25&guestCounts=3&guestCodes=ADULT&configId=S72722479&city=London%2C+United+Kingdom&numRooms=1&intcmp=home1_hotels&path=hotels&ac_country=GB

Lots of them are a double bed and one single, or a suite with separate sleeping for two adults and the spare, which might suit perfectly.

For Ironbridge try the Madeley Court Hotel. Beautiful and just a minute or so away from Ironbridge itself.

Ive just looked on booking.com, there are hundreds of triple rooms in London.

And you can select the option of booking for 2 adults and 1 child.

In the more rural areas you might find that it doesn't cost much more to book a holiday cottage than a hotel room. We certainly found that this was the case in places like Cornwall and the Lake District.

I wouldnt worry about that, I doubt hotels would batter an eyelid, plenty of people will do it, groups of friends, hens, stags, or like the OP above.

Never had a problem with a hotel when I book a room for me and my two girlfriends - the missus gets really grumpy though:eek:

I'm getting my info from booking.com & such sites. I guess I hadn't thought of booking for 3 adults - to me that seems sleazy !!

why? Its no different to 3 or 4 adult girlies or guys booking into one room after a wedding/party, whatever, if they've had to travel for the occasion.

And loads of hotels/apartments etc abroad cater for 3 or 4 adults in a room - thats the norm rather than the exception :).

It seems people are telling you that there's plenty of online availability.

I've only done this in France with Ibis or Novotel. Often we've needed to phone the hotel (instead of using website) as booking a family room (or sometimes rooms with an inter-connecting door) is possible but the website isn't set up to cater for it.

I've stayed in a few Novotels (including in this country) and they always seem to have a sofabed in the room even when I've booked a double.

yes I thought of that roz, but as we only want 1 or 2 nights it can't be done for the summer, they want longer lets than that.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

I looked on booking.com for 2 adults and 1 teen in London and it came up with about 400 results, triple rooms.

Easy, it depends on your budget but I stayed here at the weekend and have stayed many times -

We took our 13 year old and I like it because the kids aren't cooped up in the room with you, there is a bathroom inbetween and a sort of second room with a sofabed. It's got good facilities for London too but has got more popular and consequently so has the price, so it is really pricey now. The location is great for everything.
