Youview - Recording BT Sport

apparently you cannot record BT Sport programming on any youview box yet , but you can using Sky+ , which is a bit of a bind because my reason for BT sport is for the UFC , which is on at 3am in the mornings most times and i wanted to be able to ditch SKY really

How can i keep tabs on when it is possible , BT twitter or something?

Is this not the case for all streamed progammes on Youview? I'd guess you could join the YouView forum.

Programmes that you get over the internet rather than down the aerial.

I`m confused , is BT Sport streamed then when watched via YOUVIEW ? i thought it came via your digiatal aerial ?

I read somewhere they were working on a fix to the problem for Autumn time

    Hi Dan-Dan,

If you have Infinity, the programmes are 'broadcast' over the internet. This goes for both BT Vision and YouView boxes.

If one doesn't have Infinity and is on copper broadband, the programmes can be viewed via a BT Vision box over ones DTT aerial, or via a Sky box via satellite.

Thanks Visionman , that is what i thought , so when BT do enable their YOUVIEW boxes to be able to record BT Sport , it would come via the Digital Aerial ? (as i would not have infinity , just standard BT BB)

No Dan-Dan, YouView boxes cannot recieve encrypted DTT channels. They use Infinity only.

So you would need a BT Vision box to view the DTT broadcasts.

Ok , just to clarify then , if i want to record and watch BT sport NOT via the Internet , i need a BT vision box (which arent that great allegedly?) or keep using my SKY platform?

ALternativly , apply for Infinity , which i was loathe to do as we are not gamers or big movies buffs or anything , and then watch BT SPORT and record it (when enabled) over the net ? on the TV ?
