But that isn't what it says.

I don't know what the offer the OP was working from actually did say (and I do think it would be very odd for a hotel to have an offer that ran into the middle of the school holidays), but what he quoted does not say what you have written above.

Without extra information you would reasonably expect an offer to apply to the stated times both in terms of booking and use.

The T&Cs for the 24 hour sale are still on their website.

    There you go.
The following terms and conditions (in conjunction with our standard terms and conditions) apply.

Jurys Inn 24 Hour Sale is only available online.
The Jurys Inn 24 Hour Sale is valid only for bookings made between 0.00 and 23.59 on 7th August 2013.
Jurys Inn 25% discount of our Flexible (Best Available) Room Only Rate is valid for stays between 1st October 2013 until 31st of March 2014.
Rate requires full prepayment at the time of booking, charged to the credit card provided at the time of booking.
Rates are non refundable and are non transferable.
All dates are subject to availability and some exclusions apply.
Jurys Inn 24 Hour Sale rates do not include breakfast.
Jurys Inn 24 Hour Sale rates are strictly subject to availability.
Jurys Inn 25% off promotion is limited to up to 2 adults & 2 children sharing.
Discount levels are based on our Best available Rate product only. Discounts are not available on any other rate product including promotional and advance purchase rates.
Rates returned will be our Best Available Room Only Rates for your chosen date and location inclusive of the 25% discount as applicable. Prices are per room per night.
Jurys Inn reserve the right to withdraw this promotion at any time and without prior notice.
All bookings charged in local currency.
Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

So, either OP has had his stay and was never entitled to the 25% discount
Or, he hasn't had his stay yet because he has booked between 1st Oct - 31st March and the discount will most likely be applied when he checks out.

Either way, I see no scam.

The statement is perfectly clear, if you read the T&Cs it's blatantly obvious how the offer works unless you're a moron. :)

I can't see how anyone could mis interpret that.

The discount can not be done at checkout as prepayment is needed at time of booking.

    Ah, So it is. ........

Perhaps that's what OP means? He's prepaid the full amount.

But you wouldn't hit 'book now' if the full amount was showing, would you?

    Wrong.

The statement as quoted in the OP is ambiguous.

The statement in conjunction with the T&C's is quite clear.

    Quite.

Knowing the way many companies bury great lists of conditions and exclusion in the T&C's I would make certain well before I committed to making a payment, that the discount would be included.

And if it wasn't I would actually ask the company what happened before starting a thread here.

  • To clarify:

I booked the stay ON 7th August. I noticed the offer about an hour or so before it was set to end.
The stay is for November 2013.

I've emailed them to explain. They said they'd be back within 2 days - tomorrow (or Monday, depending).

Also not sure how my OP got misunderstood?

I said on 8th August i booked in last night - which would make it booking in on the 7th August. Booked in, NOT checked in.

At no point did i say when the stay was booked for, but i've just now cleared that up.

So the price should have already included the discount. If the same price is still listed, then that clearly hasn't happened and a complaint is in order.

    Possibly.

I clicked through the 25% off link on the voucher codes website which took me to the Jury's Inn website.

I clicked on the section that said 25% off until 23:59 7th Aug (as opposed to immediately entering my dates).

I then entered the dates etc & got the price of £177. I assumed (perhaps wrongly) the 25% would auto be taken off at the end OR £177 included the 25% discount. I didn't want to get to 8th Aug to find out the price was then £221, so i paid.

Following day the price was still £177. Obviously hadn't received the 25%.

    This is Jury's Inn's response:
I can see that you have booked on the wrong rate, the rate you have chosen is our best available rate which means the price you see is the price you pay.

With the 25% off deal, it would of clearly stated 25% off online, but the deal is only available on specific dates.

If you need any assistance please do not hesitate to phone or email us.

Thank you and have a nice day.

"it would've clearly stated 25% off" ....... it did, that's why i clicked it as opposed to ignoring it & entering the dates.

"the deal is only available on specific dates" ..... yes, such as the date that i have booked my holiday for - being November 2013 which is within the timeframe!!

I'm reading what they're saying but i'm still failing to see how i don't qualify for this. The way i see it, i did everything required.
