Jury's Inn 25% off - a scam?

Booked in last night with Jury's Inn on the back of their "25% off until 23:59 7th August only" offer.

I read the T&Cs of this offer & went ahead. The stay costing £177. I figured there'd be an auto-discount at the end of 25%, but no. Perhaps £177 is the auto discount i thought.

I check today & the stay is still £177 - clearly no discount applied.

All seems a bit of a con to offer it & not give it!! Anyone else been caught out?

It is only valid for bookings between 1 October and 31 March.

I have used the Holiday Inn in the past, found it one pound cheaper else where and filled in the form on the Holiday website stating this.

Holiday Inn gave me a free night.

The OP tried using an offer when it wasn't valid. Obviously the discount wasn't going to come off?

Out of interest, where does the OP say what date they booked for?

How can an offer that is: "25% off until 23:59 7th August only" possibly be "only valid for bookings between 1 October and 31 March"?

OP, why don't you ask them why they did not apply the discount?

Did you actually ask for it when booking?

which as this was posted yesterday i would say the night of the 7th August, but i think the offer vouchers would have available until until 23:59 7th August only to be taken on bookings between 1 October and 31 March

That statement seems perfectly reasonable. If you book before the end of the 7th August and you are booking for a stay between 1 Oct and 31 March, you can get 25% off.

But that isn't what it says.

I don't know what the offer the OP was working from actually did say (and I do think it would be very odd for a hotel to have an offer that ran into the middle of the school holidays), but what he quoted does not say what you have written above.

Without extra information you would reasonably expect an offer to apply to the stated times both in terms of booking and use.
