Waitrose or M&S chunky ones. Both exactly the same and worth the extra cost.0

Wouldn't be so sure about that, BSE and horse meat are examples of that risk in processed food. But I'm quite happy with Aldi essentials. Had some posh hand breaded fish finger sandwich in a restaurant once and it just wasn't the same as the more basic version.
What restaurant sells fish finger butties? I thought they were only what poor kids got for their tea.0 -

Talking of fish fingers, how do you cook yours??
I've always grilled or oven baked mine (& made a mess of the grill pan or baking tray when they stick, which they always seem to) but my Dad's carer fried some for him the other week & I have to say they looked delicious. I didn't even know you could do that'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Given the amount of sauces & lemon juice & vinegar sousing the (grilled almost unto charred) breaded fish fingers, I get asda ownbrand cod or whichever name is on special at the large numbers we devour at one sitting.
When eating fish as a main meal, I like asda's own breaded portions, apart from the pesky habit of doing them in boxes of 4. Awkward when there are 5 of you, even if 2 are teens...
Gods, I could murder a fishfinger buttie right now.0 -
No fish fingers here so I just had a home made chip butty. Was yum. :cool:0

Deep fat frying is probably better from eating point of view as the finger will not dry out as much.
Think of it like a potato. - deep fat fry = good chips
oven bake = chips are dryer eat.0 -
My grand daughter likes the Young's chip shop fish fingers in batter. I put them on an oven tray and cook them at gas mark 8 on a shelf in the top of the oven. She polishes them off every time.
Felines are my favourite
