Does not always work like that ! 16" wheels , lower profile tyres , harder on the butt.

True but I understand (from a friend who drives one) that the Greenline has a lower and firmer suspension than the Elegance.

Ride is a personal thing so the OP needs to drive them both.

Checked both tyre sizes are similar price ranging from £50s - £80s depending on brand... So envious :o

Are yours 205/50/17? If there are I used to pay about 60ish for Kumho ones. No ideal how much they are now.

It also has skinny tyres, the Elegance has 205mm width the Greenline has 185mm width low friction .

I like the look of the new ones but think they're a bit too big. Closer to Mondeo size than Focus.

What about the Rapid? In two years that should be available at a good price.

there is nothing wrong with a bag car so long as it does the fuel economy, it has parking sensors too :)

If you want an efficient Skoda but don't need the size, buy a Fabia with the same engine. Provided you can put up with the looks, I think they're ugly.

Don't whatever you do count on getting the quoted mpg though!

No way, the 15" steels of the Greenline with smaller tyres will be far more comfortable, cheaper and the suspension is the same on both cars.
Why should smaller wheels be less comfortable, I'd have thought the opposite? A folding bike with little wheels is certainly less comfortable than a normal bike with big wheels.

Haven't seen it in the flesh but it hasn't received the same sort of glowing reviews that the last Octavia did - I'd check it out though

Looks really dreary inside compared to Octavia and most reviewers called the latter boring!
It's also not meant to have particularly good ride quality or sound insulation if I remember right.
