Isn't that more to do with your parenting skills rather than they layout of your house?
:D
Ha ha , i like to think not , but it`s a fair comment

That's the morning mental gymnastics done studying that layout.
Errrm...guess the wall between bedrooms 2 and 3 didn't use to be there and house was originally 2 bedroomed.
Kitchen has been knocked through into small room next door and goodness knows where the 2nd door in left-hand side kitchen wall goes to (as I cant spot it on floorplan).
Would knock back down that bedroom wall and turn it back into 2 bed. Knock down wall between bathroom and loo. Knock down half way across wall in kitchen.
Did I mention I like knocking down and putting up walls?:rotfl:
Guess that kitchen door with catflap in used to be back door and is now door into lobby. Errr....wonders if I'd knock lobby down....:rotfl:0 -
I grew up in a bungalow and loved it. Not sure why people want stairs as it is just effort! You could always do a loft conversion anyway.
One main pro to me as a child was always safety, if there's a fire you're not trapped.
Our house was built for us though so was how my parents wanted it, due to location it had to be a bungalow to tie in with planning laws.
Edit: this isn't a bungalow like linked above, it's a very rural one surrounded by our beautiful fields, they exist too

If you live in a house and your children can't sleep you still need to deal with them, that is a perfectly normal layout, the bedrooms are near the bathroom and separated from the living area. Just a bit of old fashioned decor which isn't limited to bungalows.0 -

Are you being pedantic on purpose ?
2 and 4 y/olds like to be involved with mum and Dad , and if your in a bungalow when normal `adult` traffic occurs , it`s hard for them to get the peace and quiet they deserve , especially as they are children and children are natuarally curious and want to be involved all the time
Plus , it`s been a heatwave last few weeks , had you not noticed?

We didn't have that problem as children and being the youngest of 5 older siblings and my parents would be up long after me and it wasn't a problem.
Myself living in a bungalow with my children for a fairly long time and now a flat (with no hallway and so bedrooms come off the main living area) have had no trouble with my childrens bedtime, also living in a bungalow is much cooler at night as you are sleeping on the ground floor.
Not experiencing the same problem as you doesn't make me a troll you know.0 -
