Ideal Combi-Boiler + Costing Question

Hello,
I'm trying to find a new suitable boiler to buy.
A plumber i've spoken too is suggesting an Ideal Logic combi-boiler.
Reading online, i've seen many bad reviews, is this boiler really that bad?
Also, i've been quote £800 to fit it, including a power flush, is this a good rate?
Thanks in advance!

What exact model is it and size?
Do you already have a combi or is this a change of system type?
How many Rads are getting flushed?
Has he tested the water flow rate on your house to make sure it is correctly sized?
Also what does the work involve, swapping like for like anything else?
Seems somewhat cheap on the finger in the air test.
The usual way to look at these things is get 3 or 4 quotes and you'll usually get a feel for the top and bottom of what you'd expect to pay.0 -

What RGI can supply and install, plus a power flush, for £800? I assume this is a cash deal, as he's not paying VAT or tax on that.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Avoid, avoid, avoid! Find someone who recommends and fits a better boiler to manufacturer's specs. Not gonna happen at £800.:eek:0

My suspicion is that it's a 'second user' one that he's got in his lock-up...don't even consider it (and find a new RGI).No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I didn't read the OP's post that the £800 included the boiler. Also, i've been quote £800 to fit it, including a power flush, is this a good rate?
That would make more sense.0 -
Ahh, then I misread it. But I still wouldn't touch the Ideal. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
