Not sure on the legal side of things, however being as it is for a hairdressers, i'd be too scared to pressure them in to anything in case my cut colour and dry went inexplicably wrong somehow :eek:0

As long as it states they can revoke the offer/voucher at anytime then they have done nothing wrong.
Now i will no longer reply to TROLLS that just want an argument
This is the first time I have used this forum to ask for advice and quite frankly I am very surprised that earthstorm continues to be a member if this is the behaviour.
You have not read my initial question properly and if you have, you have clearly not understood it like the other helpful people, particularly the kind person who provided the link to the OFT which is just what I needed.
For clarity, not that it really matters anymore, I made no mention of the salon being part of a national chain because it isn't. There is no mention on the voucher of them being able to revoke it at anytime, if there had have been, I wouldn't have wasted anyone's time. I simply have a voucher that says 50% off my next VISIT if I recommend a friend. I've recommended a friend, she's had her hair done, I expect 50% off my bill. Plain and simple.0 -

IMHO a perfectly reasonable expectation.
I too find it difficult to understand how anyone cannot see that.0 -

The point is not that the terms have been changed or varied. It's that the term itself is 'unfair' as it allows them to materially change the terms to the other parties disadvantage.0
