Boiler turned off - so it's hot water from a kettle for washing up etc until Monday morning - when the plumber is returning !!0

But for the sake of completeness I've put back the image in my previous post that somehow the MSE system managed to dump.Boiler turned off - so it's hot water from a kettle for washing up etc until Monday morning - when the plumber is returning !!
On there you will see the pipework under the boiler and you will see the valves which are screwdriver operated.
I was going to say a whole lot more but, on reflection, your decision to leave it be until Monday is probably the right one and so I'll put me cat away for the remainder of the weekend.

Thanks - there is little tbat anyone can do in the meantime! !0 -
Water leaking from valve glands can often leak for months and dry to air. I would rather check those first - and do keystone's Heat Exchanger test too - before lifting floorboards. But there are no signs of any water leaking from any of the radiators - they are all dry as are the carpets under them
This must be a big leak - with the pressure dropping from 1.5 to zero bar in 48 hours !!You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -

I don't think it is this in the OP's case as they have mentioned in post 34 that the pressure now drops to zero within a couple of days after refilling the system:The pressure is slowly lost during the year - up until now - when the pressure has ALL been lost in a 2 day period !!If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

If there is a a leak on the CH circuit and it's depressurising at that rate, then I'd suggest that it's probably not upstairs, or the OP would have seen some water stains coming through the ceilings by now.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Where would any water from a leak go - if it was a valve gland that had gone - and with the amount that we have being lost (ie a full system worth) - this would presumably be obvious ...?0 -
It would evaporate. And the amount of water between being fully pressurised and depressurised is nothing like a full system worth.Where would any water from a leak go - if it was a valve gland that had gone - and with the amount that we have being lost (ie a full system worth) - this would presumably be obvious ...?
We went to depressurisation over 36 hours for a few months. Sometimes you could see where it had leaked from a rad valve gland through the floor and into the cellar. But not always - it often evaporated clear. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -

Our radiators are all out in the open with the valves clean and dry - so don't think that it is this..............0 -
Have you lifted the knobs off to expose the glands? If they are leaking, there will be limescale debris. Our radiators are all out in the open with the valves clean and dry - so don't think that it is this..............You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0
