Hiya scuba, good to see you dropping in...still saving too. Keep hard at it.crimson.addict wrote:I honestly can't remember who it was but, I stole an idea from someone to pot £1 every time I go to the Gym or a long walk (£1 an hour)
Ruth, be sure to really enjoy the company of your Brother and his family and have a marvellous weekend. BTW, I remember the "pot a £1 when I go to the gym person", but who was it...and is she still at the gym??!!!! :eek:Yorkshire_Pudding wrote:Good afternoon everyone! I have just potted about £2 in coppers and silver, and 3 £1 coins. My 7yr old spotted a 20p on the ground outside the poundshop and she beat me to it and has potted it in her tin, can't believe she beat me to the roadkill LOL x
Never mind, Yorkshire_Pudding, though you could always crawl along with her...til she's your height!!! :rotfl:SBOWDEN wrote:Yep, I think this year might be a little slow for me. But I'm aiming for the big bucks next year, like you guys! I'm always impressed when I see how much people have saved in their signatures
Don't worry, SBOWDEN, you're turn will come. This is so addictive so, be patient and keep on saving every little bit.
Hey jakes-mum, how about Jake saving/earning as much as he can for his bike and you & DH making the rest up with gifting it to him for Christmas? Just a thought. Well done Gran!
I was keeping a close eye a few weeks ago, Modesty, and knew it wouldn't be long til I needed to sort out a new thread, but then illness took over - and there you go. _pale_ BTW, I put this -> on the other thread "Modesty, I hope you enjoyed the 'do' and your Ruby Wedding Anniversary too!T & I are 1 & a bit ahead of you, loving it too, though we haven't a clue what happened to all the years in between either. Not to worry...we still have the LOVE!! :kisses3:" Wanted to make sure you saw it.
donna73 wrote:Thinking about starting another pot as an incentive for myself - trying to stop comfort eating and exercise more- thought it could be used to treat myself for my efforts once there's enough in there - anyone else done a pot like that? Wondering how effective it might be?
Go ahead and do what feels right, Donna, it's always worth trying and who knows - there could soon be a whole new and happy you with a whole load of cash to get yourself something lovely. You're worth it. :j
Don't worry, Nell, take things easy and don't get too concerned about saving, you know it'll happen - your Nephew will keep you on your toes!
Things still going well then, Lynsey, and you've still got almost 16 weeks to go!!
All the best with the 20ps, mumof3plusoh, have a brilliant time...clean or dirty!!
Well said, Nell, you're absolutely right.Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, pot all you can.

Found 31p in the bottom of my bag......so its joined the party in the pot.
Sue UU - indeed my nephew will try his hardest to keep me on my toes, as will his sister. She joined in the saving bonanza, but to be fair to her she is younger and not that interested in money and happily saves away - ahhhh.
Nephew has his eye on washing and hoovering out my car for a fee in the next few weeks - all for a small fee of course, but it would cost me money somewhere to get it done so may as well pay him. He did a lovely job of it last time for meSPC No:118:j (6) £468.74 (7)

I can't remember how much I potted today, but my total is now
£2.86.My target is at least £30 by december 31st.
Also, I would usually empty my savings pot each month and put the saved pennies in my savings account but July was a really rubbish month and so I had barely anything in my tin.
Also, I'm going to put £1 in my bank every time i have a no spend day.
But i'll put in the total amount so if i had 5 days of no spending, I'll put £5 into my account each week or so etc...SavingsRepayment: £0/£359.00

I have just been told off by DH for spending money   hark at him, Mr 'ill pay for it later' telling ME off like im the one with a hole in me pocket!
Ok so I might have spent a few quid over the last few days . . . £30 at arg0s, £112 at A*da, £51 at disney st0re online and £33 at debenh*ms, but my arguement is
Arg0s and Disney are both xmas stuff and with my wins this all cost me nowt (ive still got over £400 for xmas after this lot for goodness sake man!)
Re A*da's - I havent done a proper food shop in about 4 months and HE's the one who kept moaning we had no food, plus £31 of it was my mum and dads!
And debenh*ms was Miss Lilys School uniform as they have 20% off school wear and an extra 10% code you can add at the checkout. She was going to need it, and £33 for 4 school tops, 2 pairs of trousers, 1 pinafore dress, 1 School jumper and a rather nice denim jacket (as she only has her big winter one and it was a £5er after discount) I thought was a bit of a bargain! So I told him to bog off :rotfl:
Anyway no pennies for me today as havent been out(think DH would have had a heart attack if i'd suggested I needed to go to the shop after all that :rotfl:)
Ooo and Sue, if he was the patient sort, I would have bought him the bike for christmas (as we were going to get them both new bikes this year) but he wants it and he wants it NOW!takes after his father that one does, im telling you
