Sealed Pot Challenge 6 ~ Part 2

Hi, can I join in please? I have a very old, very large glass coffee jar that I've been throwing all my loose change into for years but unfortunately the lid comes off far too easily and far too often! DS2 now even dips in for change for his bus to college!
The financial noose is really going to tighten next year. Widowed for nearly three years now, my eldest will be in his final year of uni and lives hundreds of miles away from home and my youngest may decide to go to uni. Thankfully I work full time but really need to tighten my belt, and not just moneywise, weightwise is essential too!
So, I'm going to empty by coffee jar next Thursday and already have a roll duct tape at the ready. Really looking forward to joining you all and have been so inspired by all the posts I've read so far.
Take care x0 -
Thanks Sue-UU! Pot feels quite heavy, I pretty sure I haven't hit my target but as I've said before, its a start and I have learnt so much this year!! Just popped another £1 in this morning.
I will definitely do things differently for my next pot (I already have 2 sealed tins ready and waiting for the new challenge, although I'm not sure I'd be able to count the second pot as its for spending money for a holiday my dad is treating us to next year and it won't just be odd bits of change going in there?)
Keep going everyone!!0 -
Welcome loxxee and Jellybaby, I'm sure Sue-UU will give you a number next time she's on0

She will indeed. You could both read post 1 though so that you are all geared up with the rules and tips and tricks! Also, feel free to start potting straight away. That way you will have a head start on next years challenge.
I'm considering counting my pots this weekend cause i am going to be so super busy next week at workThere's no way i'm missing Thursday on here though
exciting times!!

From all you've written so far, loxxee, this is most definitely the right thread for you! It's perfect for everyone and helps us all budget as well as save! Your roadkill skills will pick up fast from here on - keep your eyes down - but do be careful where you walking! :wall:
Of course you can join us, loxxee and Jellybaby. A very warm welcome to you.Have fun saving and enjoy the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 5 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge.
Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away.
*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.
Jellybaby, you're definitely in the right place for friendship, craziness, sympathy and a darn good caring support group. A bit of all spreads for miles. Some random coins freed from my purse into my pot.....but not for long :rotfl::rotfl:Can't believe it's only 6 days to go. I am stupidly excited. My DS is going to go to the bank tomorrow and get me some plastic money bags :j:j
I love hearing how excited you're getting MissE, it's good for the heart, head and soul I'm sure. For me it's a huge buzz, hubbt 'n all. :kisses2:
Have you ANYTHING left to pot, Helen?! The speed with which you've saved as totally incredible!
You're very welcome, Lynne.Moneysavingmomma wrote: »another £1 in the pot today from change DH left lying round - he took the £1 coins and left the silver so I presume he didn't need it! haha
You've got it, Moneysavingmomma, never give 2nd chances were your pot's concerned, it's needs are greater than your DH's!
Kerry, that's so good to hear! However, by teaching you skills we seem to have pushed you onto the streets, in a manner of speaking. You must have picked up a packet over the years, incredible!

Don't worry about your Target, Happybeingme, the main thing is that YOU'VE SAVED which is fantastic!!!! :j All the best with it next year too.
All things considered, Ruth, it might be a good idea. I think I'll need to as well.
Hubby went to the shop earlier and on his returning chucked £3.20 in the pot!!!! :kisses3:
Please take not all: No one ever needs to re-join and we always keep the same numbers. I transfer everything and everyone over to the new thread so you don't need to do a thing except SAVE.
Remember those plastic bags from the banks, everyone, don't leave it til the last moment.WOW! Only FIVE more days to save, potters, so make the most of your saving!
Sue xAnyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's NEVER too late. Thanks Sue-UU for adding me on and your warm welcome. I'm lucky number 2120 and really feel the excitement ramping up!!
Might have a sneaky count of my coffee jar contents tonight, just can't wait now to officially start
Have a good weekend all x0 -

Afternoon all. I'll catch up in a minute.
Welcome to all the new "potters" - good luck.
Hope all are well.
I managed to get the remaining £1 coins needed to round off that bag, but the 50p and 20p coins are a struggle!!
Bagged up £720 in full bags and have:
£5.50 in 50p's = 9 coins needed
£7.00 in 20p's = 15 coins needed.
Total so far = £732.50.
I have 2 x £2 coins for the 2014 pot so far.
Keep potting, not long now.

Potted another £1 today. Could possibly pot more this evening as I'm off to work night shifts and any change in my purse usually tempts me to the drink/snack machine which would then be breaking my NSD for today! So if I pot it then it's a win win situation!!
