Same happened to me. They emailed me and told me about a quick mystery shop which would take about 20 minutes, looking at the paperwork and brief, I found out it would actually take 2 to 3 hours, so I declined and told them why.
Since then, I have not had a single email off them offering me jobs. Not that I am bothered. If they can't be honest and true about their jobs and how long they will take, then I am not the one to work for them!
Is anyone else having a superbly busy October? I've had a crazy August and September too. Hope everyone else if fully booked up and earning loads!0 -
Is it just me or is the company that (used to) hate to be named going all MF with silly proofreading queries?
You have written that ‘the bar edge felt slightly tacky’ and that ‘the bar top although dry, had residual smears and glass marks.’ Can I just ask, what exactly do you mean?
When I put my hand on the edge of the bar it felt a bit sticky, when I looked at the bar it had marks and smears as if wet glasses had once been placed there, and the marks just allowed to dry.
Oh, that’s alright then. Thank you for clarifying that. (Deduct 2 marks!)
Seems as well as new ‘diners’ they have recruited new proofreaders, all keen to justify their existence.
Sigh!
Only ever when they have had a bad report, seems like you can't give a bad report for this new client.0 -

The problem for me is that I am often either busy or away from an internet connection at the point when jobs are released. If you don't see them you can't grab them. And circumstances mean I shop intermittently so I don't get much chance to build relationships with the allocators.
But I too hope that those who want to be busy are ....... and have lots of good earning jobs.arghhh!!!0 -

I had one querying my validation picture the other week, I can't remember the wording, but it basically said they can't see all of the front of the store due to it being obstructed by two trees.
Note to self, start taking chainsaw with me on MF jobs.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -

Not here
Aug - awesome
Sep - even better
Oct - half of what I'd got in Sep (at the same day of the month)
Are you quite a new shopper? I think once you build a rapport with allocators and you have proven your worth, they will contact you directly and give you king sized allocations.0 -

I think they've got a new girl. I had a call from her today and she didn't even know her email address. Hopefully she'll learn as usually their proofreading is fine.0 -

I've been doing it now since Feb this year. One of my biggest problems is living in such a rural village, there's no local work and the nearest city is quite a few miles away.
That said, I enjoy the work and and enjoy planning my longer trips with military precision. If I wasn't doing this, I'd only be sat at home going stir crazy.
Hopefully, as time goes by, I'll get to know more allocators0 -

Oh right I see. Still quite new. I have been doing it for about 10 years now! I'm like a relic in MS terms.
Your best bet would be to plan a jaunt to a larger town. Most allocators are very happy to change dates so you can work out a big circuit. A bit of sweet talking to try and get something towards mileage always works too hehehehe.
Good luck0 -
