Thanks for letting me know. Clutching at straws, I changed browser - tried to send it again and I am getting even more red! This report seems to think I have eaten everything on their menu and had a product quality problem with it all. Something weird going on.

    ......and breathe......

Use a credit/debit card to buy the item/service...

Take a picture of the item on the shelf with the SEL and again later in your hand outside of the store and use that as partial evidence of your purchase for your accounts.

Sometimes receipts can't be obtained for everything such as bookie visits and reimbursed spending on fruit machines and as long as it's only a few and you can show a reimbursement for the item then the HMRC is fine with some missing receipts. For example...I hand write a note detailing my wagers on the fruit machines on a betting slip that I got from the bookie that I visited and scan that slip into the computer to use as evidence of my spend. That was not questioned.

Thanks, but paying by cash is compulsory, and taking photos in a small shop would really draw attention to myself. Plus, it's food items, some of which are made fresh, so they aren't on the shelves anyway. Hmm...I'm hoping that the fact that I have reciepts for past visits [before they changed the rules], and the fee and reimbursement are more or less the same for each visit will show that it's all genuine.

ive done over a 1000 miles a week, in thankfully a ms company rented vehicle so my own car was saved on that but they soon clock up though, even on city driving. If I was really business minded id get a nice economical tin can of a car, but it more fun and comfortable to drive the one Ive got given i spend more time in it than my bed I thought best to get something i enjoy

    ETA
have just done some quick sums
are you sure you cant get any more ?
factoring an hourly rate for visits, report and driving time, id be asking for more...

I used to be like that, now so long as it carries stuff, goes forward and doesn't cost much to run, I don't care what I drive at work. Nothing matters to me in a work vehicle except reliability and the pence per mile.

But then you probably noticed ;)

I do have the benefit of getting to drive some nice stuff from time to time in the other job though. Comfort's relative, when you've driven to Glasgow squeezed in a Fiat 500 as many times as I have, my old van feels fine.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

If your records show (1) initial paperwork / screenshot - the job being commissioned, the fee offered and the potential reimbursement and (2) the fee/reimbursement being paid, I don't think there's any problem, particularly if there are rules you can show stating no receipts. You could always snap a shot of the shop exterior from a distance for further proof if you feel you need it. In the circumstances, it's all you can do - so please don't stress or worry about it.

Pretty much it, as long as you are on top of the rest of your paperwork any auditor will just pass over it, you may get some advice for the future but I doubt it would raise an eyebrow.

I was like that with my punto, great for city driving but as you may have noticed I now prefer mine fully spec and gadgeted up now and can withstand a crash better

I did my first audit job today and my god what a faff, the staff were so unhelpful it wasn't even funny, the thing I had to find was damanged, I couldn't find two things because the warehouse was just crammed with a huge delivery they'd received. I was there for over an hour and they so did not pay me enough for this one! Got another the same one Thursday in a different location, I hope it's easier!

I had a similar 'disaster' today - was supposed to set up a display and restock from the warehouse. Sounded simple on paper apart from fact that the warehouse was 'stuffed' with Xmas stuff and could not find the products to display. The shop staff were good in trying to assist. A good hour faffing around but failed the brief. Spoke to the agency and others have had similar problems. First time I have done one of these jobs so jury is out as fee needs to be another 40% IMHO.

You're not alone by a long way from what I've heard.
