Don't worry about the tunnel closures, they won't really affect you at all. Depending on where you are coming from in to Birmingham, you may have to follow the diversions to get to your hotel, but they are fine. If you are coming on to the aston express way off the motorway, follow the diversions on to the ring road to the right, and follow that around. After a mile or so, you'll see a big Tesco on the right hand side, and then a big round about, go straight across, then you'll get to this weird crossroaded roundabout with loads of traffic lights. If you pretend this is a roundabout, head for the 2nd exit which is right. This comes off into one lane, follow it around, you get to some traffic lights and this intersects Hagley Road. Stay in the left hand lane and indicate right. Stay in left hand lane, and the hotel is a little way down the road (I think just after the 2nd set of lights). There's the premier Inn, TGIs and Ackbars.
    Parking is around the back.

Really easy to get to Cadburys world from there - there are signs. If you wanted to drive to the sealife centre, this is also quite easy and doesn't go near the tunnels - turn right out of hotel, down Hagley Road up to the 5 ways roundabout, take the 2nd exit down broad street and it is about 2/3rds of the way down. There are signs for the car park, or side road parking. If you have 2 for 1 vouchers great, if not, pre-book as it is cheaper. There's a great soft play area upstairs when you reach the end of the sea life centre (if the kids are that age!)
