Can't help with the route, I only know one way in or out from where I am!
I think the trains from your premier inn side generally finish at new street. Which is fine for where you're going. Is five ways closest to the premier inn? Still think buses will be easier for the centre though. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
think i will stick with buses then seeing as i think ive started to get my head round it all.
just going to try and work out if it will be cheaper to get a daysaver pass thing? do you know if kids of a certain age go free on buses?
edit: its ok. just found this- Accompanied children under 5 travel free.

If you're making more than 1 bus journey you are better off getting a daysaver. I its £3.90 per person but this limits you to Travel West Midlands buses which is the main bus provider in the West Mids. Alternatively you can get a Family Daysaver for £8.00 (Up to 5 people). Remember to have exact change as Travel West Midlands do not give change. You should be able to get to most places with Travel West Midlands unless you're going very rural.
You may find this journey planner useful too http://jp.networkwestmidlands.com/centro/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST2?language=en
Also you can take pretty much any bus from Hagley Road to the Sealife centre (although just make sure you ask whether it goes to Brindley Place Sealife Centre) just in case its a rogue one that goes elsewhere!!2019 Wins: Feb: £10 Aldi Voucher, Frankie & Benny's meal for 2; May: Game from Maynards. June: 2x tickets to Foodies Festival July: £100 September: £30; October: £1000, Goldfinch Merch Pack

hi, thanks for your reply. we will probably need to get the bus to the centre, then back again, so might work out cheaper then to get a daysaver.
i just couldnt work out what the different stages meant to work out if single tickets would be cheaper.
our 3 year old would travel free, so would just need tickets for 2 adults and 6 yr old.**Waiting for a BIG win!**

even though we only need 2 adult and 1 child tickets, i think its going to work out cheaper to get the family daysaver ticket (2 adults and 4 kids) for £8, so think we will go for that, otherwise it will cost £10.50 for 2 adults & 1 child daysaver. and i dont understand the different stages
thank you for all your help!**Waiting for a BIG win!**

Buses around Birmingham DON'T GIVE CHANGE!!
Don't show up with £15 and expect £4.50 back.
It's a confusing system - NXWM isn't the only bus company and their tickets aren't valid on other services. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
If your premier inn is the old Duck pub,/ by TGI ( I assume inclusive free parking there ) then the No 9 ( or loads of other buses) take you to Five ways- than a train to bournville
/ cadbury
OR
opp direction ( out of town), to Bearwood, then No 11 to Bournville
Or - it is less than 5 miles - driving or a taxi - no need to hit city centre.
For Sealife- there are some free parking off Broad st, but easier to catch the bus http://www.centro.org.uk/bus/services.aspx
Don't fret about the tunnels , should be fairly Ok outside of commuter times
Don't stray too far away off the main Hagley rd/ Broad st - some of the surrounding roads are hardly tourist areasAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
I did mention in my reply that Mrs Greenwood needs exact change on the bus due to NXWM not giving change.Gingernutty wrote: »Buses around Birmingham DON'T GIVE CHANGE!!

Its true that they aren't the only bus service but for what Mrs Greenwood wants to do she will be able to get by fine with NXWM (Travel West Midlands) buses & in & around Birmingham they are the main bus service. For getting to Birmingham centre (Sea Life Centre) etc she has several different NXWM buses to choose from & for getting from the Premiere Inn to Cadbury World I've just checked the journey planner & all it mentions are NXWM buses.
I travel frequently (i.e. daily as I have no car) in & around Birmingham by public transport & have never had a problem getting around on NXWM buses - my bus pass only covers NXWM.2019 Wins: Feb: £10 Aldi Voucher, Frankie & Benny's meal for 2; May: Game from Maynards.
