Its official ........ she's a girly ! Vet said she is thriving , we have tried putting her back with mama and she just wont have it :-( Not violent towards her , she just moves other babies somewhere else and leave Magic there . Im worried if she keeps moving we wont find her to be able to keep an eye on her and babies xxx

CPL lady came out and we managed to find Mama & babies hidden very very well in a neighbours shed. They were taken off to be checked over & it turns out it was just in time ! All 3 of them were smothered with tics :( the babies probably wouldn't have made it till the weekend. Now they are all in the good care of the CPL and they promised to keep me updated and when they do I will update you all. Magic is doing grand and the CPL lady left her here with us, we are trying to find her a wee foster family to socialise with as mama is quite poorly now but if not will just do our best :o
Can't remember who it was that said cats quickly own you but they were right !!!! This 9 & 1/2 oz ( podgy ! ) bundle of gorgeousness definitely rules our house now !!!! :rotfl:
Will try & update with pics soon xxxx

Hand reared kittens make wonderful pets, they think you're their mum and all other humans are their siblings. They are less keen on other cats, yes, and Magic might not make a good mum further down the line if she doesn't really know she's a cat. But that's less important don't you think? But if you are going to try to socialise her to other cats than the best thing to do would be to get another slightly older kitten and raise them as siblings. Of course that would mean you then had two cats.......

I think it might be the ticks? A heavy infestation will kill a young kitten which is why it's vital that Magic's siblings are treated asap. A heavy infestation is unlikely to kill an adult but if the adult is already thin from pregnancy, not enough food and, in the case of Magic's mum, trying to feed kittens too she'll be really struggling. Ticks make a cat very anaemic.

The CPL will be very used to removing ticks from cat and kittens though and they'll feed mum properly too, and socialise the kittens. So they'll be fine I expect, it's the best place for them. But a poorly cat is very unlikely to take back a kitten that she's already rejected several times.

Yep Valk_Scot is right, Mama and babies were covered in tics and babies may not have survived much longer :( Think CPL said they removed 16 from mama and 6 or 7 from babies !
