Help? Prize not being honoured.

As a blogger that runs comps I think her behaviour is appalling. A winner is a winner regardless if they run a blog or not. She should send out another prize of equal value to make up for the upset. It's her problem for not checking if it's one of her rules. Terrible.0

Terrible way to run things. Have commented on her facebook page...doubt it will help but it made me feel better0

she's an 'aspiring social media/PR/marketing worker'.
lol, not great PR for her is it?0 -
What do the ipm do if the wins not honoured? im curious.. is it a fine..maybe she should know this.. anyway i hope you get this sorted as its more a matter of principleBACK and READY..... waiting on Royal Mail!!!0

This is absolutely disgraceful. Did she ever announce the other "winner", or was it just quietly swept under the carpet from her side? Disgusting attitude. Sorry you've had to be on the receiving end of such stupidity, hope it gets resolved asap. x0

I used to run a blog so I know a little about running the comps etc.
Firstly, she is not running the give away out of the goodness of her heart. It is ALL PR for her blog and gets attention from other followers.
The reason being for this:
1. the more followers you have, the more companies are likely to send you PR samples.
2. more than likely these are NOT company provided prizes, and likely to have been bought out of her own pocket. This is a means to an end as:
3. when the 'winner' subsequently blogs about their fantastic give away prize from such-and-such blog, some readers may then go onto that blog and follow in the hope that they will win a blog in future, hence more followers, and back to number 1 above.
She obviously wanted someone with a blog to win so that they could give her some PR by way of referring to her during their post etc.
The way she has behaved is shocking, but at 400-odd followers, she is trying her hardest to get up there with the big PR samplers.
Don't give up on it, perhaps email Google Blogger too?

Me too, I sent a complaint to them which they referred to ASA, can't see me ever getting my prize, but the promoters made it blatantly obvious as to why I didn't get it (was DM'd and told to stop comping!! As if :rotfl:)
Hope this gets sorted for OP, I will say I have noticed a very very small minority of bloggers ostracising compers, had a debate with one yesterday who had tweeted to ask why professional competition enterers were entering her competition! (I hadn't entered but am very glad to know I now have another profession).
On the whole I think majority of bloggers think us compers are ok xxI love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
