I dont like laptops and dont have one.
If i had a laptop i would need a mobile broadband package/dongle when i am out and about, but i have a Blackberry Smartphone with BB services enabled, so i got a Blackberry Playbook with Wifi and 3G, so while in the area of my home/office i can use Wifi and when i am out and about i can access using 3G using my Smartphones BB services connection.
i believe iPhones/iPads work in the same way0 -

Since I got my tablet, I've sold my smartphone. I now use a an old fashioned Nokia as my mobile phone - it keeps charged for 7-10 days. And I use the tablet for internet, email etc.0

you can use your mobile data for connecting to internet or buy a mifi device and use whatever sim you want.My Signature is MY OWN!!0 -
but using mobile data on a PAYG phone is expensive. o2 it a max. £1 a day or £30 a month for mobile data usage, but BB services is a £5 a month Bolt onslenderkitten wrote: »you can use your mobile data for connecting to internet or buy a mifi device and use whatever sim you want.0 -
Or, I presume, netbooks. Why do ppl buy laptops?
Because you don't have to wait for a virtual keyboard to pop up and you can set the screen angle instead of having to hold the damned tablet with one hand! Oh, and you don't need to buy an overpriced sleeve to protect the screen. And they have full sized USB ports. I could go on............0 -
I resisted buying an ipad for years as I didn't think I would use it, but I got one a couple of months ago and I find that I do use it a lot.
I use it to check emails and surf the web when I am downstairs without the having to carry my laptop downstairs.
I also use it to watch iplay etc in bed with an ipad floor stand which is so much easier than watching using an laptop. I do have a smart tv in the bedroom but find it slow to search for programmes and slow to respond generally.0 -

Then why not tether it and use your phone's existing data allowance then? No need for extra mobile broadband packages or dongles.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
