Crash on roundabout

still doesn't make sense - you seem to be mixing up roads. If you were leaving by the third road, you would have left the roundabout before the corresponding entrance from the third road, so couldn't have been hit by someone coming from the third road.
Did he enter from the road prior to the one you were taking? (in which case it would be the second exit in common parlance)

You are still not making sense, if you got on point 1 to exit at point 3, when you say that exit , point 1 where you got on or point 3 where you are exiting? Either way, you/he would not be in a position to collide.
And if you are not able to describe the setup here properly, how are the insurance company going to defend their client other than 50/50 at best?0 -

Looking back at your original post perhaps you mean, you entered the roundabout at point one to exit at point 3, and the van entered the roundabout at point 2 ?
Which roundabout , google maps works a treat, did/why not take pictures at the scene preferably geo tagged if you have a smartphone.0 -
I *think* this is what op means.
Op = blue taking 3rd exit
Guy = green taking 2nd exit
So op was on roundabout when the guy come zooming on from the right and drove in to the side of op. So I suspect it was a small roundabout.

Op?
Thanks for that, well in that case the OP looks in the wrong sadly, tried to get across hoping he would out of the path of the oncoming vehicle from the right. Lunatic speeding or not, it is up to the other roadusers to avoid such types on the road, did the OP take a misjudged chance at entering the roundabout?0 -

Wouldn't that depend on the size of the roundabout and who was on it first? If op was on the round about and the guy come speeding on to it, if it was a small round about there would be very little space for the guy to come to a halt.
Although assuming the junction to ops right didn't suffer from a hindered view it would be wise to drive defensively by waiting for the other vehicle to get across the round about if he was coming at speed.0 -

Yes and no, if it was his nearside that was hit, eg, he entered at point 1, and the van arrived from point 2, then yes van to blame, however a car doing 28mph and another doing 32mph, how can you tell without some precise measuring, and even so, even if the van was entering at 60mph, the OP having checked to the right would have noticed whether or not it was clear and safe to enter, the van wouldn't magically appear.
The situation the OP describes I have seen all too often, where drivers enter the roundabout and perhaps feel if they do not look to the right then it is going to be safe to proceed.0
