What does dress your age really mean????

as someone who felt slightly put out by the opening post...I'm 27 and I LOVE a good cardi...I am VERY excited about the concept of footgloves and I'm going to treat myself to a pair on payday.
I tend to buy a cheap pair of pump shoes and wear them into the ground in summer, then a pair of flat boots in winter. in fact 'find something I like and wear it to death' is my pretty much my clothing style all over, especially if said thing is purple
I'm currently both loving and hating the maternity leggings I'm wearing as they're both dead comfy but also make me feel big and round like tweedle dee and tweedle dum. Still, it's not like anyone's going to be eyeing me up anytime soonLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

Bollocks to that.
I disagree, though I do agree its a commonly held view.
Style often stands out whilst remains 'appropriate'. When you see one one really, truly stylish its ab absolute delight, whatever their age or style.0 -

Grant Morrison the brilliant uk-native writer used to dress up like a woman and hit the town when he was 22.
Your style of dress is a direct corollary of the geographical location you were born... Which was all a bit of a accident of history anyway wasn't it.
And at the end of the day most people don't respect the diverse possibilities for clothing, and take the modest and obvious selection.
Good luck out there! at 22 many people start finding the world a bit too scary and they become that which they vowed to never be - their parents!
Grant Morrison, like me came from one of the most conservative (not politically but socialy), Protestant working class areas of Glasgow - it was an act of extreme bravado on his part but also not uncomommon on the early darkwave/pre-goth scene. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Calling it "narrow minded" doesn't change anything... It's part of being human... we size each other up.
I suppose so. I do look at people and think 'my god, what a state!', but I don't let it cloud my judgement on the kind of person they are though.
Just because someone's covered in tattoos for example (which I don't mind), I don't automatically think 'thug!'. I might not like what a person wears, but this is just personal preference, I don't judge a persons personality on their clothes.0 -

ugh! I couldn't stand having my toes separated like that. It's making me clench my toes now just looking at the picture! Can't imagine anything more uncomfortable.
Even though I do wear flip flops. But that's just one toe post.

They seriously are! Great in the gym, even out running“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Young people and fashion ? They always look like they are trying too hard.
Old people and fashion ? they always look like they have given up.
Somewhere in the middle is the rest of us, Sophisticated, Stylist and Beautiful. We've learnt our fashion mistakes, and have found a look that suits us. That does not require Beige.0 -
When does beige become cream or are they both universally scorned?0
