No - for those over 50 on a set date (April 12 I think) it was protected in my scheme.0 -

I have opened the new thread. It is all ready when we are.
I have only gone and created a named hyperlink to this thread that works. If I did not value my privacy I would send a link to all of my team and my PA....just to show them my new found technical expertise. All my own work, and I didn't break anything . *swoon*0 -
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

The air traffic control system at Swanwick is playing up: planes are landing, but big delays and cancellations for departing planes. I thought initially of Trev, because I know he is due to fly to Australia soon. Though the airlines tend to get the big heavies in the air and cut the smaller, local flights first. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Wow, that's lucky. The set date is 2006 for a lot of schemes, hence most qualifying people are already over 55.
I wish the government would stop tinkering with pensions all the time. It causes so much uncertainty and confusion. Plus it has unintended consequences. As I've said before, our scheme was affected because of changes made in public sector pensions, purely because of the way our scheme was worded 15-20 years earlier. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I am however trying to imagine a 70+ DD working and hoping she would be fit enough. She does have a pension fund and I expect will inherit form us in due course.
My Dad intends to do 50 years at the Bar, as a minimum - that's take him to the age of 74. So it doesn't seem that odd to me, to be honest. A lot of barristers already work beyond 65 - the QC who lead me in the criminal trial I did earlier this year is nearing 70, I think....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
