I'm not at the YOI - I'm at York House, the big Immigration Tribunal opposite a large Tesco, about a mile from the station.

It's a huge building - about 26 courtrooms, I think. It's one of the two main tribunals in London; the other one, Taylor House, is on Rosebery Avenue, not far from Angel, and is much more convenient for me.

Feltham is a total non-place, just a Heathrow dormitory, really.

I wouldn't wish Feltham on anyone.

The only thing I remember about Feltham, other than it being a poo-hole, is that the main road through it (A30?) had traffic lights phased so that if you set off when the first one turned green and then drove your car at just over the 40mph speed limit you'd make every other light at green.

At least you're getting paid for it. Presumably you're working with one of the fine associates of the Young Offenders Institution there...? It used to seem to me that many teenaged residents live round there so that their parents could visit them easily when the inevitable happened.

Parents and their house are fine. Think Felixstowe doged a bullet somewhat, especially when we see what happened in Lowestoft and Hemsby,

A house in Hemsby yesterday http://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/28107409?search_identifier=a9f082a0412e91811abbf3a089a40e76

Same house in Hemsby today http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-25254808 (picture 4 just in case)

There were a few breaches in the sea defences here, one bit right near my parents where the sea was topping the defences, flooding the road but as the only things which could potentially get damaged was an adventure golf course and a car park, no real biggie. Another point was a little further down where the beach huts were bobbing about in a car park and the water reached a block of flats, a little further down from there where it reached the houses.

There was also a bit futher along the other way where the road had turned into the beach this morning...not sure about the ferry down in Old Felixstowe, last I heard, the cafe me and lovverrr go to was sitting on its very own little island surrounded by water. I thought it best not to try to attempt to get down there this morning.

If we hadn't had the sea defences, it would be a very different story this morning, they certainly saved a hell of a lot of properties from damage last night.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I have cousins in Yarmouth and Lowestoft.... just checked Facebook ... and cousin's not playing bingo today ... odd that as she was playing bingo the day her dad (who lived with her) died.

Probably a family member using her account. Mine log into apps that had "log in using facebook" as the initial login but are then completely separate.

    .

    from the description:

****reduced**** Detached bungalow of non standard construction, subject to an annual lease, situated in a pleasant Marrams plot in the favoured coastal village of Hemsby. The property offers accommodation comprising lounge/dining room, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms. The property has no restrictions against permanent use.

With effect from 15th October 2013 we have been advised that coastal erosion has taken away a substantial section of the beach and that the local council are monitoring the situation.

I wanted Raphael, OH ruled it out. It was his grandfather's hebrew name but his english name was totally different, so the compromise was to have it as DS1's hebrew middle name, which has only been used twice in his life so hardly counts.

All lovely names, though I would worry that Richard would get called !!!!!!.

Richard, in the logic of our household, has always been called Joshua. Josh, sometimes.

Our actual beach looks really good though, very little stones/pebbles (erm, because they are all in the sea front gardens and Sea Road) and silky smooth looking sand. The prom and the beach huts however look a real mess...and I couldn't bear to actually check out the gardens as they are usually so gorgeous and a haven to sit and watch the world go by, it would have upset me too much.

But what a fantastic location that must have been, backing right onto the beach! What a shame that it's gone.
