Well I'm pretty sore today, basically everything down one side plus both legs hurt.
Glad you're eating NDG. Mrs Generali used to get terrible morning sickness. She'd only manage crisps and chocolate a lot of the time.0 -

There have been various occasions when, as an adult, I have eaten nothing for a few days. (All 4 wisdom teeth extracted together, chickenpox, 2 days after "the accident" when I couldn't face eating solids...) Each time I've found the best route back to eating normally was to begin with drinks that have calories (hot chocolate, fruit smoothies) and then move onto soft food, and finally to normal food. Hot chocolate is my preferred way of maintaining some energy input if illness or other circumstances make eating solids problematic. YMMV, of course.PasturesNew wrote: »There was a court case in 1980 that decided that walking a bicycle (not riding it) across a pedestrian crossing means they are a foot passenger. So it is OK. That gives me less to have to do then. I've been carrying mine over for years!
Thanks. I can't say I ever "knew" that it was OK. I had just always been given that impression. So it's nice to have it officially confirmed.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
OH got back home form his latest trip about 2.30pm.
He has cleaned the house, walked the dog, put washing on and cooked dinner. Then we popped out to the pub in the village.
I have spoken in the past of some of the :eek:gifts he has been given ...last night ...a book of photographs he and I love as they capture the spirit of what his employer is about and his organisations flag freshly returned from a trip to the North Pole.
These are keepsakes.0 -
I posted before that I once came upon the immediate aftermath of a cyclist being knocked down and killed. London, early 20's. so very sad.
Thye are so vulnerable that I think I do feel that in London (large cities) there should be an extra duty of care towards cyclist from vehicle drivers.0 -

YMMV? I'm stumped on that one, help please?
All my boots are wet inside.. I've dried one pair out as best as possible and put newspaper in and will have to lump it later this morning and wear them damp.
DH and I looked through the fabric books this morning and he loves the fabric too :j and he likes a black background one for the kitchen. I like the idea for the big French window but need to think about the others. I found an online seller that if you buy NDG quantitiessells it for a lot cheaper, but I'm not sure how I feel about that much colour and dark. I had been leaning to just one feature pair of curtains in that room over the French windows with every thing else a plain match....but wasn't looking at a black backing. If we go so dark I think I would want the pattern all the way round. But maybe just more elaborate curtain than I might otherwise choose over the French window. (The aim is to stop the room feeling to narrow, with windows either side I am worried too much might close it in, pull the walls closer together). They do have the fabric in other colour ways and a paler colour way on the far windows would be the easiest way to do it, and more me, but then I lose discount of bulk buying the fabric !)

Your Mileage May Vary...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Noodles, sweetcorn and peas. OH and Isaac also had basil-infused tofu, but I thought that was a step too far.PasturesNew wrote: »When I buy a house, I expect to get all windows done with curtains and blinds for well under £200 the lot.
That's very cheap, surely? As in, it'll cost more than that........much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

She might be able to have our white kitchen blinds if her windows are the right size..
You can get curtains etc really quite inexpensively But they are often very thin and keep no heat in, just buying premade curtain linings would be a better plan if aesthetics were not the consideration I think. Charity shops sometimes come up trumps for curtains too, if not worried about a particular colour scheme.0 -
We curtained this house for virtually nothing, donations from mother in law, my parents, some cheap ones from charity shops/boot sales, ones we brought with us from our other house etc. We've only bought one new pair.....which cost £20 in a closing down sale (should have been nearly £100).
On Facebook, there is an area selling page and curtains can be picked up on there for less than £10, decent ones too and of course, there is Freecycle. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
