I've also never used a bidet; saw one once, nearly 40 years ago, never used one. Saw a diagram about 10 years ago of how you use a bidet - and looking at that I'd have got it wrong.0 -
DH would love a sauna.
Heater is working ( thank god)
Edit...DH came home and said ...omg you look well. I even LOOK different0 -
Must be such a relief, LIR, long may it continue....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Feels good.. I have to stay founded, because it does go up and down and I don't want to despair when it goes down next....
But you'll feel better in a few months. Well, sort of...then you'll be really tired for a while :rotfl:

It's not just us NP. It's been mentioned in Huff Post:Kate Russell, of Russell HR Consulting, said: "It looks rather peculiar to have so many young women being brought into this business.
"It could be a coincidence, but it does seem odd. It may well lead to questions being asked about their recruitment strategy.
Russell added: "If your recruitment strategy is to go for people of a particular type and you recruit them because they’re a particular type rather than having the skills to the job, that is both illegal and seedy.
"Even if it’s totally okay, it’s good business sense to have a mix of ages, types and racial backgrounds. In an ideal world, you should be looking for a business that reflects your local population."
That final paragraph seems wrong to me. If it's illegal to appoint somebody because they're a particular type, then it is just as illegal to appoint somebody because they're a type that reflects your local population as to appoint somebody because they're the same type as you or the type you find attractive.chewmylegoff wrote: »I bought my dad one of those for Christmas a couple of years ago (the gadget not the bird). My mum is livid about it because my dad keeps turning everything that uses electricity off, including the fridge, to save money.
I had one a few years ago. I had to get rid of it because its wireless signal kept ringing the doorbell at inopportune times. Now that I no longer have a wireless doorbell, perhaps I should unearth my Owl and give it another try.lostinrates wrote: »Good luck spirit..
If someone were to say....collapse and in the process be knocking over their electric heater and now it doesn't work is kicking it or changing the fuse likely to help?.
(Edit...if someone were collapsing btw it wouldn't be today because they felt bad. Its because they felt exceptionally good and were dancing like a maniac with extreme vigour to kisstory pretending they were 21 and not mid thirties over weight and now very sedentary.........I was having a ball in fact...I just should have called it a day sooner. )
Sorry to hear about that, lir. Changing the fuse just might help, and is easy so worth a try. If it doesn't work, then probably what it needs is to be opened up and have its loose wiring sorted.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

I'd be trying to move you to places where NP could be reassured that you were safe and well, the foibles would be important but I think I read that 'compromise' was your new middle name. I would even have an ASDA in the criteria along with a beach. It would be in Greater Herts, possibly IoW or Margate. I went into an ASDA on Saturday to collect a toy I had ordered on line.
It was horrible.0 -
With the Owl, don't you have to have access to the wires/panel?
Mine are next door. When the electricity trips here (usually when I turn on the lights at 1-4am), I have to write a note in the dark and post it through next door's door - then they'll check the panel and flick the switch.
That happened the other night while I was already sitting here without a phone or Internet. Couldn't even make a cup of coffee at 4am safely/0 -

Great news on both counts. Hope both continue as well.neverdespairgirl wrote: »Anything that didn't involve hordes of small children!
I like my job, though. I wouldn't mind doing jewellery design, I think.
I like my job, too. I can't think of anything I'd rather do. I did enjoy working a day a week for my church a few years back, and one day maybe I'd like to do that again, but not as my only job, I think.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I went into an ASDA ...
It was horrible.
Of particular note are their pizza bars, the fact they sell Walkers' Tomato Ketchup crisps in 6-packs, their round chilli naan breads .... and oodles of other delights to be discovered!0
