I've never been well presented in that way. It'd take a lot of money/effort to get to that stage just for interview - and once you've got the job you've then another 20 days' worth of outfits to find .... and all that hairdressing!

Right now I don't even own any makeup except an 8 year old eye liner pencil, a £1 dried up mascara and a 15 year old eye shadow.

You don't need twenty days outfits, you just need a good 'capsule wardrobe'. Something I am not that great at, (probably partly because never had a long period of just being office employed...) but really is possible.

Makeup would need to be investment its true, but its fun too. Its self esteem lifting. :).

To turnover £960/day you'd need to find 320 eager customers.... every day. 40/hour every hour if you're open 9-5, 7 days/week.

To get that, and more, you'd need a high footfall and footfall of the right demographic too.

Or near DH if you do some odd flavours, I'll never get over him trying olive oil ice cream then trying not to look disappointed the whole way through it.

Years ago I had a "trifle ice cream" flavour - and it was one of the best ice creams I'd ever had. It was bought in 1995.... and I've looked in that town since over the years .... and never seen it since. It will have been a local/regional maker, so a Walls flavour by the same title wouldn't work.

The problem I have is quantities. I like lots of things, a little bit here and a little bit there. If I like something I'm happy just having one portion/year .... so it's never sensible for me to think in terms of trying to make things myself.

I'm sure it'd be easy to make a trifle ice cream ..... if I wanted to serve 12 people.

I came across this. Any thoughts on what the recruitment policy might be for:

    1. Senior management
    2. Everyone else

Like many other NPs I'm confused and angry about how our photos ended up on that webpage without our authorisation.

Was it a prank- did somebody bring a secret camera at the last meetup? :naughty:

But, let's face it - if that phone company were hiring ... I'd not stand a chance. Not even to do their photocopying.

I don't think I'd stand much of a chance either.

Criteria for the Snr Mgmnt seems to be:
    • Bloke
    • Receding hairline

You're probably in the interview shortlist already.

There's a liquid nitrogen ice cream parlour over here. I'm guessing that our peak ice cream season is rather longer than yours though.

I've not experienced liquid nitrogen ice cream. I have however been to Cold Rock when in Brisbane. I wish they would bring that over here. There is nothing better than smashed up TimTams mixed with ice cream.

You can run kids parties - this outfit charge £12/head, so that's more money, less work - but less turnover per square foot. hapusicecream.co.uk/childrens-parties-on-the-farm/

Mind you, that £12 is a buffet and an ice cream party.

Oh no. No. Trying to manage a large group of children is my idea of a living hell!

Individually, I can handle them briefly. Small children seem to like me since I went blonde! From when I was a little girl, I wanted to own a shoe shop with a funky fitting machine and sell shoes to children.

What would you lot choose to be doing for a living if you weren't doing what you do?

Seen that a few times - yeah, massive fear of fire ... and no pots.

You wouldn't believe my fears ...... here are a few:

1] Studio flat I lived in - never turned on the immersion heater to heat the water (in 2 years) as I was petrified of it catching fire.
2] Same studio flat - had storage heaters. Never used them once in 2 years as I was petrified of them ..... catching fire.
3] All ovens - can't have more than 2 rings on at a time (2 is pushing it) - fear of overloading electricals and it starting a fire.
4] All ovens - scared of turning the oven on, turning it on too high, turning it on for a long time. Frightened it'll cause an electrical fire.
5] Here, daren't turn on the microwave and the kettle/toaster at the same time - fear of fire.
6] Here - daren't turn on the toaster and kettle at the same time - fear of fire
7] Here - every second the gas boiler's running I am anxious and listening/smelling for any changes in case ... yep, it's caught fire.
8] All showers, including here, scared of electrocution the minute I turn it on .... scared to use it too long in case it causes a fire. Daren't stay in the shower too long in case it's started a fire in another room that the cable passed through.

    :)

I assume that you have a smoke detector and CO monitor? If so, don't those give you some comfort? If not, well then you are just being plain difficult. :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I used to mix and match and could get through the month with 3 skirts, 1 pair of trousers (only in my last office job, trousers were banned for ladies in the other companies) and maybe 4 or 5 tops/blouses.

In a way, being in the corporate world, we were pretty lucky in that it was the traditional black skirt, white blouse, black mid heel court shoes, nearly black tights with only occasional splashes of colour allowed uniform.

I've just recently treated myself to new makeup, needed it as my eye shadow had completely run out and my lipstick was running very low...feels nice to have some new stuff. Still need to have my hair cut, been a very long while now, 2 or 3 years I think!

James has got me my birthday present early...a ticket to see McBusted at the London O2 the day after my birthday next year. Never been to the O2, scared about the travel but really looking forward to it.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
