Sue, I don't think you are 'weird' but 'studies show' its definitely advisable to aim for between seven and eight hours sleep. No more and no less. Further more its advisable to observe a diurnal rhythm if possible, making the most of natural daylight, getting those waking hours in daylight at this time of year for example.

These factors impact on health and longevity.

Otoh, IMO there is little point counterbalancing positive benefit of this with stressing unduly about isn't and getting negative product of stress.

I've tried to sleep for longer but even with medication, the most is around 6 hours.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Yep...but then its harder to dry outside. I mainly dry outside. Why waste electricity to get a less nice result?

I always dry outside where possible.
I get that. Used to get car sick from my dad's driving style before we'd reached the end of the road! But I cannot read, or look down, on any transport.

In 2007/08 I was on a bus to meet somebody - sent them a text while on the bus to say: On bus, arriving in 15 mins.

By the time I had typed/sent that I felt as sick as a dog, was dizzy and wasn't sure if I was about to throw up or pass out.... luckily I managed to recover as I was considering trying to stagger off the bus and collapse in the street.... good job I wasn't meeting somebody I loved or I'd have added xxx at the end and that'd have been the end of me!

I think mine is a combination of the travel sickness, but also really wanting to while away time enjoying not being the driver.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

New American houses have the laundry room upstairs so you can wash, tumble dry and iron without ever having to change floor.

Our old British flat has the laundry room downstairs - but as the bedrooms are downstairs, and the laundry cupboard is next to the bathroom, nothing ever moves floor.

Presumably, the only down-side of an adjournment from your client's POV is that he wants the matter resolved. However, if, as seems likely, his case is prejudiced by it being prepared in a hurry, he would probably prefer an adjournment.

Also, if, as a result of preparing the skeleton in a tearing hurry late at night, you make a mistake, it's your neck on the block. OTOH, if you apply for an adjournment, even if your application is turned down, that makes it harder to sue you.

So, why not make the application?

It's quite a downside from my lay client's point of view - he's all psyched up, ready to go, and wants a resolution.

I've applied for the adjournment, and the costs thrown away, but I've still got to prepare in a hurry for the hearing, in case the adjournment's not granted.

    Am I weird?

Strange question I know but reading threads on other parts of this site and it appears that going to bed after 11 is seen as being incredibly late and in some cases, a no no if you need to be at work in the morning.

I go to bed at around 1.30-2am during the week and am up for 7 and I don't go straight to sleep either. I don't think I have ever slept 10 hours in one go, blimey, even 7 hours would be a push, I would have to be really really ill to sleep for that long. It's not as if this is a new regime either, I have always done this, even when I had 5 part time jobs at the same time, school and exams.

How do people stay in bed that long? It's a really alien concept to me....wasting your life and the time you have to do stuff, in bed.

Normally I agree with you - you're a long time dead, and all the rest of it.

But it's a bit different for me at the moment, I'm getting a lot more tired, when pregnant, and find it harder than usual to work silly hours, grab a couple of hours' kip, and pretend to be normal the next day.

May as well PN ( I couldn't afford that either!).

Normally I go to bed at 10 and get up at 5.15 ( at work for about 6.15 - 6.30) and walk the dogs for an hour before work starts. Pretty much every time, head hits pillow and I am asleep in 10 minutes.

Just recently getting a lot more tired, no physical cause for it though.

@LydiaJ, I don't consider myself OCD, but those are mismatched enough to drive me nuts!:o

    Pregnancy is different.
Might try a super cheeky punt. OK house in nice spot (not all boxes ticked though) was on at £265k a year ago; now on at over £240k.

They paid £200k, Zoopla guesstimate says worth £194k. Local prices would indicate it's should probably be marketed at £225-230k.

Might take a cheeky viewing and offer what I've got if it's doable.

Oooh exciting. Go for it, PN. The collective celebration amongst the NP when you finally buy will be enormous. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

That's not a pic of my actual ones. Mine are the same radius, so they make a nice semicircle against the wall. I think the difference in radius of the ones in the pic would drive me nuts too. One of mine is about half an inch taller than the other, though, and as I mentioned, they're slightly different colours. One day I will get some spray paint and do both of them so they match, and I've got used to the difference in height now. :)

When I do buy it'll be so small the NPs will have to stand outside and come round in shifts. . . and bring your own folding chair, cutlery, glass/mug and plate.
