Needed a procedure doing and got a cancellation to have it done immediately, but wasn't going to do it unless someone (someone generally = me) was there to nurse.

    Glad it went well :)

The first proper chapter of the thesis. Where I waffle on around the general subject, introducing it and showing how clearly important the guff in the following chapters is going to be...

The thought of online dating is gently terrifying at the moment. I'll try getting out and about a bit more first, when I've got the Big Things out of the way :)

I'm so, so pleased to see that you're making progress with the the thesis. I've just logged on for the first time for over a week, and that's the first thing I looked for.

As for dating, you're lovely! I can't quite believe that there isn't a queue formed at your door. Perhaps even a rather disorderly queue with a bit of pushing and shoving at the back. :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I can see why she'd want to get the thesis and the house purchase out of the way before starting to consider whom out of the queue she wants to pick, though. ;)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Love the Aurora Borealis Wallpaper by Elli Popp.
I 've bookmarked that for Margate ...one day...

On the subject of wallpapers... I was doing some editing at the library recently and found a beautiful book of full colour plates of French Art Deco textiles. Some of these would have looked stunning turned into wallpaper and hung in a turn of the century house. Shame mine was built in the 1990s. Wouldn't work:(

As missk said, glad it went ok.

She is lucky to have you there, able to drop everything and dash off across the country. I hope she makes a good recovery.

GBD - that is very sweet of you. Good job I had some progress to report, eh?! :)

I can assure you that there is no queue, never has been! Which suits me fine. I'm generally quite a good judge of character, but not when it comes to choosing a partner.

Once the thesis and house stuff is out of the way, I'd like to get out and about more and meet more people outside of work (and current friends too). I have a huge list of 'things I'll do when I'm not writing a thesis' - I've had quite a long time to add to it :o
