Isaac had to write a story for his dyslexia teacher, with me, OH and Isaac himself writing a line in turn.
Isaac started it, "There was once a very clever Roman Emperor called Isaac who could think well but was very very very bad at writing in Latin." (I've translated from the original spelling)....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Today is officially the day I am bored and broken of spirit as regards property renovation. Its not even as if anything in particular happened. A pair of my earrings got broken which was mildly annoying, but they weren't particularly fancy even though I liked them. I wore them on Friday so they were in a little bowl I use to dump things in when I cannot be bothered to put them away properly, then I spend a pleasant half hour or so every few weeks putting things where they should be. The bowl got knocked and things are missing (but will turn up) and I noticed these are broken) and I just feel......stupidly tired of it all now.0

I admire you for doing it.
The thought of it exhausts me. That you have the vision of what you want, and create your own highs by carefully choosing what materials, fittings and furnishings to go in and commission and project manage the tradesmen and professionals is something to behold.
I would be paddling about in a trough of despair.0 -

I can probably mend them - what's actually broken? Email or PM me if you like?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
What was the next line?
Abba got the next go, so it was;
"Emperor Isaac wanted to be able to read all the interesting books in his library, so he got lots of help to learn to read and write better."...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Any pic of what they looked like? Maybe something that could be recreated...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

God himself couldn't fix them, its tiny pieces... I've just scraped everything up in to the little bowl, which I now see is also chipped. I'll go through it all soon and see what else is damaged.
I feel a bit better now.
I think maybe the silver lining to take from this is its long overdue that sparkly corner had an overhaul, and with pastures new and never despair girl here who know about value in jewellery and the other nice women who all know more about buying jewellery than I do, and have taste that with vary from egging me on (I'm thinking of you FC, viva and bugslet) and perhaps saying 'really?' Politely with more restrained taste, hey silvercar:). Maybe I use this as the impetus to tidy up sparkly corner a bit and ditch some the plastic tat (I still have lots from teen years) and buy some slightly more grown up tat?
I'm not talking about expensive jewellery. Its not going to happen, but maybe some nicer but more grown up jewellery? I can post pictures of what I have and what I like and perhaps the women with greater knowledge than me can help me find some stuff I like that is better, more grown up choices? Is that a plan?
I cannot take pics tomorrow( hospital) but I probably could on Friday.
I have already sent some pics of two pairs of earrings I like on noton the high street to DH.....

There is obviously a bit of a theme there.....:o. One has to pick what suits one as well, of course.
I could weep, but frankly, there is no point crying over spilt milk.
Right.....shower for hospital.0
