Today I woke up after a much needed lie at 10am. But since then I have been feeling really out of sorts emotionally.
I can't pinpoint a particular reason, but can identify my feelings as tired, lonely, overwhelmed, lost, anxious and just generally close to tears under the surface.
I have lots to do to keep me busy, accounts, online work, housework, tesco shopping. My kids come back at 4pm so i'll be full on again then. Actually a part of that i think is still misssing another adult in the house to share the weekend with/responsibility with.
I can manage on my own and I do everyday, but I still envy those families who are all around me who have both parents. I am in the minority. I know behind closed doors it isn't all rosy, but that is how I feel today.
I have just been diagnosed with a strep b infection and need to start antibiotics, I've felt so wiped out for 5 weeks having to force myself to get through each day, its a relief to know what is wrong. This is probably why I am feeling low, zero energy doesn't make for a great mood eh?
Thanks for listening.

You're ill, you're feeling tired and you don't have much of a support network and now you feel down about it? Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Give yourself a break and have a day off doing something you like until the kids come home...go back to bed, have a bath, go and read a book in the garden or go out to lunch. Actually my vote would be to pop out and buy something sinful from M&S for just me for lunch and then go and sleep in the garden. But you do what you want to make you feel better. The shopping and housework will still be there tomorrow and you can get the kids to give you a hand then.Val.0

Thank you valk-scot, just knowing that someone has listened to means a lot.
Unfortunately I do need to go to tesco, but I have asked my husband, well kids father I guess, if he would pick me up on route to bringing the kids back, I have no car today and its too much for me to carry. He's agreed, at least we are mostly on good terms still.
Then when the kids come home i thought we could watch the dvd my mum made of our holiday to IOW back in April.
Must stay positive (and stop procrastinating from the online course work I need to do).0 -
This heat plus being unwell will have knocked you for six.
Take it easy & pamper yourself a bit.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -

Everything you feel is normal and legitimate. And even if you weren't ill, having days like this is normal and part of being human.
On days like this I try and acknowledge I feel rubbish emotionally and then ignore it as much as possible and hang on to 'this will pass'.
Try and take it easy today until you have to go shopping: you are ill and your body needs to rest as much as possible.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Thanks Brighton Belle, I love your signature btw!!!0

I am sorry to hear you are feeling down. Being poorly and coping day to day alone running a home and raising children, is enough to wipe any one out and throw you off balance emotionally. Do you have any family or friends nearby who could ease the strain a little? I hope once you start taking the antibiotics that you will feel much better soon. Take careThe best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

Thanks Marisco, i know you understand as a single parent yourself. My parents are away at the moment and my mum has been under the weather herself, so i haven't liked to ask to much more. Mum is having the children for a day next week whilst I work, so again I don't like to ask her to have extra unless she offers.
I have just started the anti b's, so maybe in a few days i'll be feeling better, but then again my stomach might not be. Got to take 8 a day, quite strong ones too apparently. I'll make sure I double up my probiotics too.
Feeling a bit better now with the distraction of the children, one is making a model robot from recycling bits she has collected during the week, the other is making lego models in the garden.0 -
Gosh that is a lot of medication to have to take daily. Shows just how poorly you have been. Take it easy and only do what is really necessary till you are back on your feet. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. It's hard being a single parent, always the one to wipe snotty noses and clean up after poorly children but there's never anyone to look after us.
I hope you feel better soon.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Thank you ladies for your understanding, i try not to moan too much especially to "happily marrieds", they just don't get it and look at you if you have 2 heads at times. But I do admit to being one of them years ago and feel bad that would I thought to myself "she is always moaning about how hard life is, or going on about her ex". Now i'm the one thinking "its ok for you married people, you have someone to rely/help support you".
You never know do you? But i do think its fair to say you can never truely understand someone's situation unless you have experienced it yourself.
So i'll just carry on here if that's ok and try to keep upbeat in RL!!:)0
