Yeah but I do it on a FireBlade. Non of this heated grip sitting behind a bard door BMW GS twaddle!

Is that something to do with Shakespeare?:D

All the GS's I have ever seen have had a screen fitted but no fairing. Perhaps the fairings have all been stolen?

Still no settlement fir the bike... Getting slightly annoyed now.

My leg is coming together nicely, still a bit fragile but I'm able to remove the boot and walk, albeit cautiously and slowly, and not very far, there's absolutely no strength in my leg lol not entirely happy with it though, to me It seems as though some things miss aligned and at rest my foot turns out to the left, whether that's down to just muscle wastage or not isn't entirely clear.

Hopefully will be in a position to begin riding soon.

Does anybody know the position regarding the possibility of getting a hire bike if the insurers don't pull their finger out, is it too late for that if I'm in a position to ride but unable to due to them not settling yet.
  • If they've written the bike off you may struggle.

    Who is handling your claim?

By the length of time taken I'm guessing it's Albany.

Have you had any personal contact with the other Insurers?

They have written it off, but haven't settled on it yet

White Dalton, they do seem OKish theyre keeping in contact when they need stuff.

They acknowledged my view on the value of the bike and forwarded them on but that was over a month ago now, I know there's been the holidays and all, but I would have hoped a recalculation or non would have been a bit swifter.

They have been in contact since about getting my medical records etc and arranging medicals, but no mention of the value of the bike was made.

Haven't been in contact with the other iinsurer

What is the problem with the settlement?

It would normally take a couple of weeks after the other party accepting liability to get an offer for a written off vehicle.

Have you tried ringing the Insurers yourself as it often cuts through the crap and gets it sorted

it was a low offer, even for a previously written off bike, and they have taken the micky with the salvage value, considering the amount of work it needs done now.

asked for a recalculation and for them to take the bike away and pay out in full for the bike, either they or my solicitor has gone quiet :o

haven't called the other insurers yet, but may have to, as its about 6 weeks since this was apparently put to them by my solicitor.

and I want a new toy, in preparation for me taking the world by storm once again :rotfl:

So, just updating this, just for myself really, and to keep a tab on the time lines.

Revised settlement for the bike, upped a bit to a more realistic level, they've also recalculated the salvage cost to more lol, how does that work ? It was worth xxx as salvage, it's now worth xxx + a hundred or so.

6 month x-ray today and it's looking bad, told to expect at least another 3 months until it comes together.

It's really knocked me for 6 once again, it seems like it's progressing and then I get another slap in the face, truth be told I feel as though it's going to be declared a non union eventually, with all the crap that follows that.

Looking at 9 months plus isn't a good feeling, a year's gap in the cv, complications likely long term, all down to a rather lame crash.
