Hi,

I parked in Asda car park in Newquay which gives 2 hours free parking.
I did not use Asda whilst i was there.

I stayed for a few minutes too long over the 2 hours as i was messing around with the kids when we got to the car.

I have now received a parking fine from "Smart Parking Ltd also trading as Town and City Parking". The fine is for £40.

Should i pay up?
Appeal? (not sure what grounds)
Ignore?

If i ignore, what is the chance of it actually going to court?
or should i just pay up within the timeframe before it goes to £70.

  • Hi ender4,
I received one of these ''invoices'' myself, from the same place, about 15 minutes overdue on the free-for-2-hours Asda car park.

I've left the letter unattended and un-responded to, in a draw.....where it'll stay!

I'll await the next few letters, and put them where the first one went.

Just Asda's way of thanking you for shopping with them every week.
    Look for another supermarket.
    Be happy...;)

There is a secret clause that if you are their customer. They would waive it for good will. If you didn't shop on that very day, show them the huge amount of receipts you shopped before and after that day. They will try to keep you. So talk to asda customer service first. They can cancel it for you if they are convinced.

I gave them an address in europe for the driver. They cancelled the ticket. So pick an address from the internet
  • I'm in the same boat but not sure what do as well, so far I ignored it and not had any contact with them. No more letters so far.

I stayed 15 mins over the time.

This is advice to all of you, don't lie there is no point. Wait until the Notice to Keeper comes, which must be with you within 56 days of the parking event, don't appeal anything until then, come back for further advice once that happens. If you are not the registered keeper tell us now

But please create your own thread once that happens so advice can be given individually and no confusion can be caused.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

If you mean link then I cannot post a link

If your telling me to look at my thread then there isn't really any advice on there apart from a Newquay resident stating they think its confusing as well about who looks after which car parks

Bump that thread by replying to it, this is a very busy forum and sometimes threads are not replied to
