MSE News: O2 to launch superfast 4G network, but not for iPhone 5

They should finish off their awful 3G network first!
I will never go back now I'm with 3.0 -
Most 3g contracts are already quite expensive for not much in terms of data allowance.
If o2 and other companies want to be successful with 4g they need to get rid of under 1gb plans and bring the price down which I don't see happening.0 -
I can easily see Apple (if they are smart) releasing a new version of the same iPhone 5 on sale now with wider 4G capabilities at the same time they release their next flagship. It would even make sense to release a new 4S 8GB with 4G capabilities but I don't expect to see that.0

There will be 2 new models if the rumours are correct, but it would be too costly to re-engineer an old model.
There is supposedly an iPhone 5S or 6 replacement for the iPhone 5 and an iPhone 5C which will be a new lower cost model.====0 -
EE did not provide any 4G services until 30th October 2012, well after the iPhone 5 was launched. At the time the iPhone 5 was launched, there were no 4G services in the UK.
There were also no 4g services in several other countries where Apple launched advertising highlighting 4g, hence the few million worth of advertising standards fines.
Which the MSE article seems to be ignoring by wording the headline to sound as if it's an oversight by O20 -

Probably will be iPhone 5S, now with more 4G, plus some minor stuff under the bonnet pushing the price higher
The iPhone 5C will most likely be something like an iPhone 4, in a plastic body, selling for the same price as the current iPhone 4 :rotfl:0 -
Current iphone 5 price will drop surely with only EE 4G compatability0
-
It might drop but previous launches give a good idea of how much the drop will be. When the 4S launched the 4 only came down to free at around £35. Networks know that people now wait for a new handset in order to get the last one at a better price and as a result it sometimes takes a few months for the price to actually reduce.0
