Let's assume it was a house. We would need to know the exact nature of the leak.
If the roof was leaking badly and you paid for a survey, depending on the type of survey, and the roof was passed ok, you have a case against the surveyor.
If a pipe burst and there was no sign of problems beforehand it is just one of those things in life. Contact your insurance company.
It's difficult to see the circumstances where you can sue the seller since it is caveat emptor and your responsibility to have a survey and searches to check what you are buying... unless there was a very specific description in the contract about the thing that caused the leak being fine, dandy and guaranteed.0
