Anyone have any funny/embarrassing stories about unintentionally using a product in a way it was not designed for (printable ones):rotfl:
I have - sprayed flies with hairspray, sprayed hairspray under arms, tried to wash hair with conditioner and wondered why it did not lather:o:o:o
I now try to have a system for placing products on shelf, as suggested by kaddison, latest near miss was toothbrush and 7 day scrub cream, I realised just in time. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

one of my male friends did, he used my shower and got confused between body wash and body scrub. cue him slathering a huge blob of scrub on his face and being very confused about what was going on. came out going "there was all stuff in it, its everywhere! what do you women use??!!" lol. took him ages to pick the beads out of his stubble :rotfl:0 -
I have a UU to report...
FCUK Her (lovely name!) edt. WNBA The bottle was quite clumsy and awkward to use at times so I often got fed up with it whilst in a rush to get to work in the morning! Shame really as the scent itself was quite nice.0 -
Advance apologies ladies...
emsjune78 - I think it's you who is a big fan of the Elemis illuminating balm? I'm not sure how much you usually pay on eBay for it, but maybe worth checking out this:

I bought a travelo perfume bottle on amaz0n, it's handbag size, ok for on aeroplanes and ideal for strange shape bottles. You just take the squirty nozzle off and place in the base and repeatedly press down(as if spraying the perfume). My perfume stash is decreasing albeit slowly thanks to my purchase. No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries: July stash 72/0 INS/2 UU/0 TA0 -
First IN of the month Everpure Shampoo for Coloured Hair 250ml which will teach me to wear my glasses when I go shopping because the tube of shampoo and conditioner I had bought a while back turned out to be two tubes of conditioner. Duh!
This of course doesn't bode well and no doubt I will struggle even more to tell them apart if they are side by side in the shower
I've nearly done this too with this brand, think the shampoo is the one with the coloured lid and the conditioner is clear off the top of my head if that helps, they are extremely similar - I've poured conditioner out instead of shampoo before!Anyone have any funny/embarrassing stories about unintentionally using a product in a way it was not designed for (printable ones):rotfl:

I've also done the hairspray under arms  the conditioner thing too when half asleep in the morningSundaysgirl wrote: »Advance apologies ladies...

Ah thank you, I'll look out for that, shame its exclusive as we haven't got a WH Smiths, worst case scenario it'll mean a new batch of stock on Ebay
Not posted for a few days so again many thanks for the kind words and thoughts, its very much appreciated, things are not seeming quite as awful as they had been lately0 -

my husband once used the dogs flea shampoo!!!!!!!
and on holiday he has used my no7 face wash as a shower gel and once i caught him using my clarins day cream as a moisturiser on his arms eek but i didnt dare tell him how much it cost0 -
Had some INs but been fairly restrained and only bought things I've actually needed:
1. Tresemme Freeze Hold Hairspray - replacement for bottle that ran out - HG
2. Percy & Reed No Oil Oil - Got a new one just opened in use and this one as spare - was a good price on Ebay so couldn't resist stocking up as instant HG
3. John Frieda Conditioner - Incidental as came with the foam hair colourant, don't usually use this brand but was on offer so thought I'd give it a go, was enticed by the possibility of less mess and easier application. I know I've tried a mousse before and wasn't impressed with the root coverage so hopefully it wasn't this one!
4. Cussons Pure Moisture Plus Shower Cream - Was out of full size shower gel and soap and this was a total bargain at 99p from Home Bargains for 500ml, very MSE, smells nice too
5. Finally, Sure Clear Pure Crystal Deo - picked this up in Home Bargains for £1, haven't seen it in there before - HG and current one is spluttering, accordingly to my stash list I should have another to go but can't find it so not sure if stash list is out of date or I'm just looking in the wrong place!! I do need a bit of a resort of my stash, I have started tonight with one of the storage baskets in the bathroom which has led to some TA/GA
UU are:
1. S&G Greatest Scrub of All - Very meh, does the job but nothing standout, doubt I'd BA
2. Elemis Skin Nourishing Bath Milk - WNBA - Nice enough but not worthy of Elemis prices and I do like bubbles which this lacked
3. S&G Clean On Me - WMBA - I do like the product, I just dislike the pump dispenser as you have to pump it ten times to get a decent amount, a little too MSE!
4. L'Oreal Preference Conditioner - WBA if I go back to this hair colour.
5. Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser - WMBA - novelty of this one had sort of worn thin by the second bottle, its a nice idea but no substitute for proper moisturising, might get some more next summer if its still about, nowhere need robust enough for cold weather and winter months.
6. Percy & Reed No Oil Oil - Already replaced.
7. Be Bare Nail Varnish Remover - one of the casualties of my mini sort out, had a best before date on the bottle which was 2007!! Before I saw that I knew it had to go as had lost its pink colour and was now entirely clear :rotfl:
8. Clearasil Blackhead Cleansing Pads - another TA, I'd imagine way too harsh for my skin and I don't have blackheads anyway, a well meaning stocking filler from my mum at some point I imagine
9. L'Oreal Techni.art Hair Mix - A cream of some description, creams are way too heavy for my fine hair, must have been a gift as I wouldn't have bought it - GA to mum
10. Tresemme Deep Cleansing Shampoo - another GA, tried this a couple of times and my hair played up stupidly, not a chance I was persevering through 500ml - wouldn't even make nice handwash on the basis its blue
11. Classics Nail Polish Remover - Again, this was clear and smelt a lot stronger than I think it should have done so goodness knows how old it was - TA
12. L'Oreal Sublime Tanning Milk - Seem to think this was good in its day but I'm embracing pale and interesting as I utterly hate applying self tan, the smell, the faff etc so this half bottle wouldn't have got used plus I'm not sure just how long its been open - into the bin it went!
13. St Tropez Self Tanning Mousse - As per above and only had a tiny bit in anyway
Phew, been busy!0 -
I kind of UU
decanted a bottle of the Home Bargains Philosophy shower gel/shampoo combo into an empty FCUK shower gel bottle with a pump for use at BFs. It's only 89p for 500ml so very :money:
Already have the raspberry one in use at home and like this but though the mint one might appeal to him  and actually suggest he could use this instead of using my fcuk one  that he says it's greatLife is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0 -

Definitely conditioner as shampoo! And I've put shampoo on my loofah instead of shower gel. Thankfully I stopped myself from putting steroid cream on my toothbrush! That might have hurt a little bit...
kiwisaver I'm glad I'm not the only one that's done that - the Ever... bottles are so easy to confuse! I wouldn't normally buy expensive conditioners, but just didn't notice the difference! one is sightly taller, but the easiest way is to put one more out of reach than the other.0
