My how times have changed

Back to work today, sooo much work and the day went very quickly, barely scraped the surface of work to do.
Have realised that I accounted for an extra insurance payment that doesnt exist - hurrah! So have paid some to mum and some to credit card bringing debt free date down another month.
I have a cheeky baby in Tiny, last night she would not sleep, she screamed and screamed for 45 mins only stopping when I went in the room. Big one then went into the room to sleep and we hoped it would settle her. Tiny then resorted to fits of giggles, I came in to see what was going on and Tiny was lying down so I backed back out again, laughter continued. Big one then called me back in to tell me as soon as she heard me coming she lay down and pretended to be asleep, once I was gone her head was back up and she was grinning away.
They get smarter younger these days.
House is just about presentable, washing on, ironing done, need to add one more extra thing to this list each day to try and keep on top.
No studies today unfortunately. I may try half an hour reading but its rather late. Not enough hours in the day.0 -
Washing on, Ironing done, dishwasher filled.
Bought Tiny some new clothes from the money of yesterday as I was struggling to get her in them. Also decided big one and I will get some waterproof jackets that are on sale in our local hop. We have been getting soaked with every rain. They will wait until the weekend.0 -
Washing on, Ironing done, dishwasher filled. Will wipe down kitchen cupboard doors.
Just cashed out £5 on swagbucks and £3 on mysurvey.
I've almost found my desk at work, almost. Not sure about this taking holiday malarkey.0 -
This is a very long week.
Achievements
I've caught up at work
I've finished my first Open Uni module - will have wait 8 weeks to see if I passed
Keeping up with washing, dishwasher and ironing (just) each day
New module material has arrived, have made a start
Submitted second assignment for diploma
Unfortunately I haven't made my weekly swagbuck target so no £5 this week.
A few spends had to go on credit card
I have booked a holiday for next year. Normally I would forego holidays, with the exception of the wedding in Ireland. However this is for a family reunion that occurs every 5 years, we didn't attend last time and I really want to have a good catch up with the family from USA, Canada and Jamaica. Unfortunately it comes with a very big price tag so I resigned myself to not going....until... datatada super mum said she would lend myself and the two girls the money - oh will fund himself and half of the baby. A bit political really but it's like that with us at the mo.
Have had a good week at work, feel like I'm being challenged with the view to long term training for the next level up. Not expecting it yet but it's good to be given the opportunity to learn it rather than just doing random admin stuff.
Big one is doing me proud with all her homework and Tiny is apparently very good at tidying at nursery can even sort the cars from the bricks. Need to find a way to make this work at home.
Those cupboard doors never got cleaned, I won't write in advance again.0 -
That's an amazing offer from your mum. Exciting to have that to look forward to between all the other stuff you are doing. Congrats on the OU module, even finishing it is worth a major celebration, passing is just an added bonus
Sounds like work is going well too, you definitely deserve that holiday.0% card was £1126.91 / Now £1502.37
AFD March 2/15 NSD March 2/11 :T
Other debts paid since 1/1/14: £17,0050 -
Thank you MF. Even if it is in 10 months lol. Not that I'm counting.
Had a quite day with lots of walking:
Went to the bank to take out £2 coins for dinner money - my local bank no longer have cashiers it through me a bit.
Followed by a walk to the market for fruit £3 on 7 bananas 7 apples and 6 pears.
Then walked to Argos and spent a gift card on a new calculator for big one at school.
Followed by a half hour walk to the next area to go to WH Smith to buy a spanish and english dictionary also for school and used £5 gift card.
Onto Primark to buy some cheap shoes as mine have a hole in the back and are no good in the rain, bought two pairs at £4 each to try and even out the wear, also a pair for big one.
Then over to Tesco for some odd bits for dinner and nappies.
All the money was budgeted and put aside it was a good feeling. Haven't done much else other than play with the baby.0 -
Cashed out £3 on pinecone, got excited to be able to cash out £10 from Global test market, but can't as it has to be a 1000 points minimum - I only have 400.
Oh well.0 -
Cashed out a £10 voucher with shop and scan. I plan to buy something to wear for work, this I will be able to put through expenses so will end up with the £10 again. Which will head the same way as the rest - credit card.
Had a late night in the end last night, spending time with OH. Tiny woke up in the night convinced it was the morning. Have been paying for it today.
Nice dinner at mums house and back home, kids tucked up. Meanwhile I am staring at the mess. Can't quite motivate myself.0 -
What a long yet quick week.
Summary: studying happened, not much money making although I am liking bubblews and am hopeful on that site. DFD down one month. Budgeting is going well although I need to shuffle some money.
Had a monthly catch up at work and all going well still.
Flylady is slowly creeping back into my life although I can't keep up with the thread.0 -
Plodding along this evening, had a lovely nap with the baby earlier. She has a bit of a cough. Went to get big one from my mums and caught the back end of a bbq. They had been icing cakes for a charity youth group.
This evening did the big ones hair, watching a movie that neither of us can remember all of 5 mins after it finished.
Kitchen is a mess but the ironing is done.
A bit annoyed as my account is -£19, given that I budget to the penny it means I have spent something and not accounted for it, but I can't locate it. Lesson learned, clearly thought I was in control of the budget but it shows that I have to look at it every day and keep note or it goes very wrong.0
