Would you lie to be able to send an application?

Sorry, yes I should have added the caveat 'within reason'.
I will give some room for mistakes that could have crept in during text transfers between files/mediums. I would avoid any ads that have classic modern grammatical errors such as 'wouldn't of' instead of 'wouldn't have' or mixing up 'there', 'their' and 'they're' because it shows that the company is either lax in their admin employment or in standards such as proof-reading. I do not mind 'don't', 'couldn't', 'wouldn't' or 'can't' although I have to confess that it is slightly off-putting. Anyway, we are drifting off-topic fascinating as it is.0 -

lol
I still apply for jobs with mistakes like that, much as I wish to correct them or avoid them. Usually they say they want someone who has an eye for detail. Clearly because they currently don't have anyone lol.
I have to apply for so many jobs and I would rather apply for a job with mistakes than lose JSA for not applying for enough jobs.
I do think job ads are getting worse for that and it really bugs me. Words such as don't do not put me off, but there has been many times where I've thought if I'd written that I would have written it out in full.0 -
Back to the original question; it depends on the actual lie.
If it was 'have you got x years experience of y' and I didn't but I had something similar I'd tick 'yes' and explain it in the wordy section.
If it was a qual I didn't have I'd tick yes and say in the wordy section that I'd be more than happy to do the qual as soon as taking up the post but then again I have plenty of quals to choose from which would cover most of the jobs that I would apply for anyway.Sanctimonious Veggie. Well most at least 3 years experience now. I have a years experience but it's been well over a year now since that. So any question about experience is probably going to be a no for me and I can't think of any explanation to get around it.
I have a number of qualifications which vary in level, but rarely the type of qualification (or level) they want. Some cover certain jobs, others cover other jobs, but I never have anything that quite equals the qualification they want0 -
Slightly off topic, but about two years ago having a years experience was fine and I had none. Then I got a years experience and they all started asking for two. And now they all want at least three. At this rate next year they'll want four and there's no way I can gain three or four years working in a year.
If the questions ever become more popular on job adverts I'll never be able to apply for any without lying...0 -

You would think more would be better then less but they see it as a threat for the rest of the team who have say 2 or you are going to leave when you get a better offer. I say I have the right to take a job as a stop gap but these co's obviously want people who can only just do the job
Indeed. It's not up to them to judge you anyway. Not everyone will leave a job just because they have more experience or better qualifications.
Someone less qualified/experienced could easily do the same and most probably will once they've gained the experience. In the meantime the job probably isn't being done as well as it could have been had someone with more experience taken it.
Although more work experience doesn't always guarantee that a person is actually any good at the job.0 -
