Yeah, I've seen questions like that too. I agree, it does seem a bit OTT. Makes me wonder if they just put them questions on all their jobs or whether they add them for some other reason.
Questions are there to also see that you have read the advert

I once saw on and applied to it on Reed where you may just tick YES to all but the last question was

Have you just ticked YES to all of the above questions?

What site is the job on, Reed?

Why not email the company and or agency direct?

I think Flyonthewall is asking generally because it is not just agencies that do this, some NHS jobs (for example) have the same pre-filter. It is a bit discouraging if the questions are related to direct experience and/or qualifications but there is no value in lying. The employers are setting out what they want to avoid both employer and applicant wasting their time. I have never come across one yet (it is only a matter of time) but if I found one that had less specific questions, I would consider not being honest if I could be sure I could blag my way out if challenged. Being realistic though, why bother?

Yeah lol. Sure I've had them on other sites too, I just can't think which ones.

9/10 times I have no idea who the company is. Most of the agencies listed are ones that should be informing me of such jobs, but they don't so I wouldn't hold out much hope for a reply from them. I suppose it might be worth a try though for certain jobs.

I suspect its a standard system for all jobs, as I said if it was a managers role it would be a perfectly reasonable request. They just don't change it for the less involved jobs which unfortunately penalises perfectly qualified/suitable people from applying.

Why would an agency inform you or a job? Even if you registered you will find you have to do all the running

Do you know the name of this company??????

I always read the adverts properly and the questions, that's why I never know what to do when the job is good and the questions aren't lol.

I think I have seen one or two with that question, but I'm sure the previous ones all had to be a yes so if you assumed they just wanted positive answers and didn't read it you'd tick yes to all as they'd want anyway making the last question pointless.

They all tell me I'm on a list and will be informed of any jobs in certain areas. Certain agencies have phoned me up over one job then just never bothered again despite saying they'll continue contacting me. I never expect them to contact me, can't say I want any of them to bother as I can see their jobs elsewhere. Point is, none of them are good at contacting you.

    What company?

Exactly. Various sites do this, there's different questions and, you're right, it is discouraging.

I see no point in lying, I don't think it would create a good impresssion even if they did decide you were suitable. Yet many of questions are for things that are well above what you'd expect for such a job. A job you know you could do. 3 years+ exp for filing, degree level for data entry etc.

Simple jobs almost anyone could do but you're stopped from applying unless you lie. Just doesn't seem worth it, but it's annoying knowing these jobs are out there that you could do.

I never said I was applying to any company. Just in general; any job, any company/agency, any site. Any that have the questions on.
