we are off to Turkey in a few weeks flying with easyjet, this is the first time we have not paid to put a bag in the hold our bags we use are http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HAND-LUGGAGE-LIGHTWEIGHT-TROLLEY-HOLDALL-CABIN-BAG-ON-WHEELS-RYANAIR-EASYJET-/221245731699?pt=UK_Tickets_Travel_Luggage_CA&var=&hash=item338345f373 i know the rules have just changed so our bags may be put in the hold for free and that we dont mind about but what im asking is can we ask for out bags to be put in the hold?? and cos we asked is it still free? im asking this as im unsure on suncream, if you only have hand luggage do you have to put it into smaller bottles to get there departures? we take a lot of suncream with us that i have been buying while on offer so really dont want it taken off us for being in the wrong bottles.

If you ask for your bags to be put in the hold to get around having suncream larger than 100ml you would have to do it at check-in.
And that would cost you more than having pre-booked hold luggage as you would be paying for hold luggage - IYSWIM.
If you have suncream larger than 100ml in your hand luggage, it will (if they are doing their job properly) be seized at Security.
Bags within the larger Easyjet limit (but larger than the guaranteed-to-be-allowed-in-the cabin limit) may be put in the hold if there is insufficient room for all bags in the cabin and that will only be known at the boarding gate.
By that time, your 100ml+ bottles of suncream will have been confiscated.
You can either decant your suncream into smaller bottles to take in hand luggage, buy suncream at the airport when you get through into Departures or buy when you get to your resort.
Some airlines (Ryanair) are strict about any air-side purchases having to fit into your one cabin bag, I'm not sure about Easyjet.
Also remember - all your containers must fit into a transparent, re-sealable 1 litre plastic bag, measuring no more than 20 x 20cm - so you can only have 10 x 100ml in each bag.
You need to ask yourself if that will be OK for you, taking into account any other liquids/gels that you might also want to take.0 -

Don't forget this is one bag per person, so a family can take more bags.

Or you could just buy your sunscreen in Boots once you've gone through security.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Exactly just buy it in boots don't faff about decanting it!0

If you ask for the bag to be put into the hold, you'll be charged hold baggage fees. Otherwise just put the suncream into 100ml bottles.0

honestly? as you already have your sunscreen bought, and you'll need other toiletries too, I'd just pre-pay for one hold bag to take all your creams/liquids/toiletries, then you can pack a couple of beach towels too (save you buying them when you're there). When I go to Turkey, I prefer to pay for at least one hold bag, because toiletries and even some basics (like coffee granules for example) are expensive in the supermarkets there, so I'd rather take stuff from my own stash at home, and old beach towels (so if they are too tatty by the end of the holiday I can bin them and know they didn't cost me anything).0

If you are only having cabin bags then if you buy the stuff airside in boots it still has to fit into the cabin bag if they are doing their job properly so be aware that they may still take it of you.Living the dream and retired in Cyprus :j
