Watchdog I guess will only take it up if it seems to be a widespread problem.

I must admit I was tempted with their £15 a month deal when I renewed but the thought of having to put up with their Customer Disservice Department focused my mind away from them.

In the first instance I would go to OFCOM or whatever they are called now, Otelo???

OfCom is the regulator - Otelo and Cisas are the 2 arbitration schemes that ISP's must offer to resolve disputes (either/or option, not both) - toothless wonders mostly and can't get involved until the ISP agrees that they have reached a deadlock/stalemate situation with the customer.

I had more joy with OfCom, but they actually didn't do much themselves!!

:j Well - i have just received a letter from 3 with an excellent response telling me that they have cancelled the alleged debt owing and to ignore any further correspondance from them. I don't know if this due to the threat of Ofcom and Otelo or just my fantastically worded letter (?!) but i'm not going to question it too much. I also sent a copy by registered post to the Executive office address is:

Best of luck to anyone else trying to beat them at their own game - keep trying as it's a great feeling to beat a big company over the head!

    Hi,
I've just received a 16 month old bill from 3 as well. (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=478678&highlight=year+old+bill)

Apparently back then, when they closed an account they also cancel the DD, BEFORE the final payment has been taken! This was the first communication I received from them about this, so as to why they're chasing these accounts now I have no idea!

    Might give Ofcom a call...

    Miles.

If you put this in writing to the righ people it never fails to work. In addition it's usually a good idea to Invoice them for your time to them at £30 per hour for having to deal with their pointless correspondance.

    It focuses people's minds

The TV Licencing people dared to waste my time once and I invoiced them for time and petrol involved in having to run around after their mistake (long story) - and I received payment in full.

PC World kept me waiting in all day to pick up a faulty laptop but had forgotten to arrange a courier to pick it up. I wrote to the MD of PC World asking for a days earnings. I received the cheque a week later.

My wife wants to change her surname - I wonder why??? :rotfl:
Hugo, that brought a smile to my face! Thanks

Any way now its time to recoup my costs!...a letter will be winging its way tomorrow.
