I've already got a detailed checklist but I've never put "suitcases" on it, but I think I might now.
The first time we went on holiday with 3 kids I wrote a list of what should be in the boot as a double check...travel cot, double buggy and about 20 bags I think it was lol. I've learn it's best to get everything in the car the night before except for toiletries and drinks as if they are forgotten they are easy to replace lolHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -
Last time all I forgot was the coffee sugar and cling film so I was quite impressed lolHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

taking the bins out is even more his job than ever since I tripped over the recycling bin one night when I was trying to be helpful and shattered my shoulder!!!I feel like i've stumbled into a thread started in the 1940's..mens jobs and womens jobs...really? Myself and every single female I know would never pull the pathetic female routine to get bins emptied etc..I could never be friends with a female who behaved like that
depends where you go ...the voice of reason...no its no more his fault than mine or indeed my responsibilty any more than his ...he's no clothes and bits either....trying to make light of the situation...afterall whilst it might be fun trying to live without clothes other than the ones we stand up in....the other guests in the hotel might not take too kindly to the "natural" look
If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's rather more than a B&B, very nice indeed. There's a 'naturist' B&B in Birmingham... just an idea for your next break :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Random...that's the town I'm from!

It was a lovely place - we had to stay in the Ibis hotel overnight. There was some sort of Festival going on in the town at the same time - but we were not unfortunately in the mood, as you can imagine! We bought a small tent in a supermarket as soon as we could, but nothing fitted in it! Always scrabbling round in the back of the car for our stuff.......gave up after a few days and headed home. Brittany is a great place to camp though!0 -

I've never done that, it may be due to the fact I don't have a passport and dont go to airports though, otherwise I'm pretty sure I would

Many years ago now (but it's something that we still laugh about) my Mum and Dad were going to Boston for a long weekend Christmas shopping trip, Mum was *convinced* that they were flying on Saturday morning at 11am, I did wonder why she kept saying 'Saturday 29th' when I noticed that Saturday's date was actually the 30th but was too young to be taken notice of and assumed she knew what she was talking about. Lo and behold, they turn up at the airport and they'd missed Friday's flight and were unable to get another one so the whole trip was cancelled! Mum was mortified and cried all the way home from the airport just to be laughed at by us and our cousins who'd come to look after my brother and I! We had a lovely weekend with our cousins though!

A few years later, having checked the flight details a dozen times we got to the airport to fly out to Toronto and my brother was turned away at the desk as he was still on my Mum's passport at the age of 17. Mum thought he didn't need his own passport (back in the days before children had to have their own from birth!) until he was 18. The rule at the time was 16.
Mum and I got on the plane (she cried a lot!), Dad and brother travelled down from Leeds to the passport office to get brother a passport and caught a flight from Stanstead the following day! At least they got to go on holiday though even if they did miss a day, could've been much worse!

This thread has made me chortle, although I feel miffed that I tend to put our bins out!
My friend planned a weekend with her mum last year to see Robbie Williams somewhere in Europe (might have been Rome)- but had recently moved house and couldn't find her passport so they couldn't go
My mum forgot my bag once when I was about 6. I remember being most upset about not having 'big teddy' who I used as a pillow. It was easier for us though as we were with friends who had a daughter not much older than me so I think I wore her stuff.0
