As we all know most of us ditch our water bottles before we get through security and then re buy in shops inside the airport and very costly to. Manchester airport do provide free chilled water fountains once past security just fill up your empty bottles here and save yourself some cash. Don't know if other airports do this though.

a couple of quick points.
i cant think of any airport in the uk that hasn't got water fountains airside.
and you dont go through customs when you go airside, at a push you may walk past a cash team waiting to pounce but they are few and far betweenLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
I think the OP meant Security - and it was nice of him to take the time to post the tip.Normal people worry me.0

Another one for Gatwick.
I thought that water was a basic human right, so it's v.annoying to have to ditch water landside only to have to get ripped off airside.0 -
I've not seen any at Luton either.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

I do agree but I generally go and buy water (often as part of a meal deal) in Boots, using Vantage card and then I don't feel quite so ripped off.0 -

I can never understand why there are so many people find themselves having to leave bottles of water, pop, full cans of beer etc in the bins at security, the regulations have been there for a few years now and there are posters everywhere within the airport stating what you can and can't take through, yet still people try it on and then blame the security staff for their own stupidity.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

In fairness, you can ask for tap water at the bars and restaurants. I have never been refused, nor asked to pay: I suspect that they are obliged to give water on request.0
